Chapter 61

*2 weeks later, the first day back at school*

Riley's POV:

It already feels weird knowing that I will not be at school with Maya, but luckily I have Lucas, Farkle and Enid and it won't be long until we go off the college anyway, just a few more months. And I'm happy at the opportunity Maya has been given, and also I think it is good she is at the same school as Josh, being pregnant and all.
"So, have you decided on what colleges you are applying for?" My dad asks my class, even though he is Principal now we still have him from time to time.
"NYU!" Lucas and I say in sync.
"MIT." Farkle says proudly.
"Boston."

Enid announces followed by a few more people muttering names of good colleges.
"Farkle, you're leaving us?" Lucas exclaims.
"Only for 4 years, and we will visit you, and you can visit us too!" Farkle says in defence.
"But what if you move out there permanently?" I add.
"Trust me Riley, we won't." Enid assures us.
"Okay." I say unsurely and then my dad proceeds with the rest of the lesson.
"Riley?" My dad calls for me just as I'm about to leave the classroom.
"Yeah?" I say turning round and walking back to him.
"I'm happy you are going to NYU."
"I don't know whether I am or not yet, I haven't been accepted yet."
"Right, but you know what I mean. And how are you doing without Maya?"
"I'm okay, I'm gonna try and speak to her at break but I've got Lucas, Farkle and Enid, I think I'll be okay Dad, it's only a few hours of the day."
"Okay. Now, get to your next class, here, I'll write you a late note." He goes to his desk to fill out a small slip of paper.
"Thank you Dad." I say taking the paper from him and exciting to my next class.
