Riley's POV:Once me and the others had sorted out our stuff in our lockers, we head to first period early, we had Harper so none of us minded particularly. Our lockers have been moved, as they are now a memorial for what happened last time we were here, we went to visit it briefly, and Farkle appears to be coping really well, me and Maya have gotten a little emotional and Lucas has just been very quiet. I am a bit worried, but I am going to try not to bring it up until we are home though.
"Good Morning everyone!" Harper greets, signalling for us all to take our places.
"Since it is the first day back, before the bell goes, we are going to start by having a short conversation on what we have been doing over the summer." She continues, before looking down at my left finger, and eyeing my engagement ring.
"Riley! Why don't you start us off, it looks as though you have something to tell us!" She says happily, I smile and walk to the front of the class.
"Hey guys, it's really good to be back and to see you all again. So, in the summer, Maya, Lucas, Farkle, Uncle Josh and my daughter, Amelie went to Florida for 4th July weekend. Now when we were there, we went to some fireworks on 4th of July it's self. I didn't know though, that these fireworks were especially planned for us, well me. Lucas you come help me with the next bit!" I say to the class happily as Lucas jogs up to the front and takes my hand.
"I proposed, by writing it in the fireworks." Lucas announces as the class erupts in cheers, and we go back to our seats.
"You know, Farkle had a good summer, he should tell us next!" I say encouraging him to go to the front of the class.
"So, last time we were here, well you know what happened, and I was in a really bad place before the summer, and I never thought I'd find love again, but in Florida, I met a girl, we had a summer friendship and we were really good friends, she always made me laugh and I stayed in Florida the entire summer with her. She was called Enid and started to dye her her different colours everyday day almost, I fell for her after that and then it went down hill I guess... Anyway, and she-" He was interrupted by the door opening.
"Her." Maya said as my dad entered the room with Enid.
"Harper, this is your new student, Enid Richards, she just moved last minute from Florida, she is in your lesson today 3rd period, but not in your form or with the rest of this class." My dad tells our teacher, who looks shocked and uncomfortable.
"E-enid, good to, uh meet you." Harper stutters uncomfortably, I can't help but notice the tension between them, I don't think this is the first time they've met.
"Enid." Farkle mutters under his breath, clearly shocked.
"Well, I am just introducing Enid to all her teachers before class begins, so see you all around, oh and welcome back kids." My dad smiles and they leave the room.
After a few more summer stories, the bell goes and our lesson actually begins.*at lunch*
At lunch, Enid walks past is a few times and makes eye contact but doesn't speak or smile. Farkle looks really hurt and annoyed. Lucas has still been really quiet all day, I am really starting to worry.
"Hey Lucas babe?" I ask him, putting my hand on his back.
"Hm?"
"Are you okay? You've been really quiet, I am worried about you."
"Can we talk about this at home later?"
"Of course. Just know I am here for you."
"Thank you." He kisses me softly.
"I miss Amelie." I say resting my head on his shoulder and getting my phone out to look at some pictures of her.
"Me too." Lucas kisses my head.
I just remember that we only have a few hours till we are back home. Me. Lucas. Our Daughter. Family.
