"Hey Peaches, you ready to go home?" Riley asks me, as she enters my hospital room. The doctor has given me the all clear to go so I'm just changing and then Dad is gonna drive me home.
"I think so. It's just, what if I get scared?"
"Maya, it's okay to be scared. And you'll have your dad there or Uncle Josh or you can come to mine. You'll be fine, trust me." She comes over to me and takes my hand.
"Thank you Riley."
"No problem, now let's get outta here, your dad is outside." She links with my arm and we walk out to my dad in his car.
"Hey babygirl, you all set to go home?" He asks, giving me a side hug, as we're both sat in the car now.
"I think so, yeah."
When we arrive, I am reluctant to go in my room but Riley encourages me to, and she accompanies me.
Nothing is a mess, it's how it was before.
"It's like nothing happened!" I hug Riley.
"Between your dad, my parents and I we put it back together."
"Thank you."
"Your welcome, now what do you say, you and I take Amelie out for lunch?"
"Yeah sure, Josh is helping his parents and Feeny today anyway."
"Great. She is only at my parents, so let's go."
"Wait, can I change first?"
"Of course sweetie."
She exits my room and I quickly change, my clothes and hair and apply my makeup.

"Ready." I say, walking o we to Riley in the living room. Dad had to go straight to work. We grab our bags and head to Cory and Topanga's.
We decide to go some sushi as we haven't had it in ages. We also take a stroll through Central Park. It's nice to have some quality time with Riley and Amelie.

*that evening*

I haven't yet been alone in the house, because I stayed with Riley until my dad was back from work, he picked me up on his way back.
We had take out for dinner and I'm really tired so I have decided to go to bed.
After about an hour of trying to get to sleep I drift off.
I wake up with tears rolling down my face. I had a bad dream. I take my first instinct and immediately ring Josh.
J: Hey baby! You okay?
M: Not really, I couldn't sleep then I had a nightmare. Can you come over?
J: Of course, I'll be there in a few, I'll come the the window, if that's okay?
M: Okay. I'll be waiting. Be safe, I love you.
J: I love you too.

Within a quarter of an hour there is a tap at my door. It's Josh, in a tee and sweatpants. I unlock it for him to climb through and lock it again as soon as he has. I just hug him tightly and sob lightly into his chest.
"Hey it's okay, you're okay. I'm here, you're alright." I sob harder.
"She said such horrible things Josh. That's what hurt not the actual thing that put me in hospital it was what she said!" I say between sobs.
"Hey, hey, ssshhh, Maya. Look at me." He lifts up my face and wipes away my tears. "Whatever she said, I promise you, isn't true. And I'm here you're safe, she isn't going to hurt you anymore. I love you. Okay?"
I nod slowly and crawl back into bed and gesture for Josh to join me. He crawls in next to me and wraps me in his big arms, there is barely any space between us.
"Josh doesn't love you. He probably just feels sorry for you, no family, no friends, ugly, self harmed for attention and attempted suicide because you got rejected by your slut of a best friend's baby daddy." I whisper, reciting the words she said to me.
"What?" Josh replies confused, tears begin to reform.
"Maya, is that what she said to you?" I nod slowly in reply. "Was that the nightmare as well?"
"Yeah. She was saying it and then it was you, Riles, Dad, Cory Topanga, Lucas and my mom saying similar things just coming from them."
He holds me tighter than ever before and soothes me until I do eventually fall asleep.

Josh's POV:

I stay awake after Maya for a bit to make sure she settles. Then I think of a song that I heard the other day. I decide to whisper song it to her as a lullaby.

I watch your troubled eyes as you rest,
And I fall in love with every breath.
Wonder if those eyes are really shut,
And am I the one you're dreaming of?

'Cause underneath the darkness
There's a light that's trying so hard to be seen.
And I know this 'cause I've noticed
A little bit shining through the seams.

And if this is what it takes,
Then let me be the one to bare the pain.
Ooh if this is what it takes
I'll break down these walls that are in our way,
If this is what it takes.

You keep on telling me I'm wasting time,
But to call it wasting time oh that's a crime.
And you think it's crazy what I'm trying t'do.
Well baby, I'm a fool for you.

'Cause underneath the darkness
There's a light that's trying so hard to be seen.
And I know this 'cause I've noticed
A little bit shining through the seams, yeah

And if this is what it takes,
Then let me be the one to bare the pain.
Ooh if this is what it takes
I'll break down these walls that are in our way,

'Cause if you don't understand yet
Then I'll never let you forget
That you don't have to do this on your own.

I'll be your shoulder to lean on.
I'll be your right when you feel wrong.
So come on, take my hand, we're moving on.

And if this is what it takes,
Then let me be the one to bare the pain.
Ooh and if this is what it takes,
Then I'll break down these walls,
These walls that are in our way.
If this is what it takes.

And then I too, fall asleep, holding Maya safe in my arms.
