***Bill***
I swing high on the swing set and look at everyone around me. "I'm on top of the world!!" I yell louder than everyone. Soon, the bell to go back to class rings and I jump off, running to the door in front of everyone. I stick out my toungue at everyone as I pass by. Third grade is fun so far!
"Ha!! Look at the little pine tree!" I hear some kids behind me and suddenly get mad. I turn around and see three kids gathered around a smaller one. "You're so weird! What with that birthmark on your forhead?" I may be mean to people, but when more than one person gathers around a smaller kid, it's just straight out wrong.
"Hey!" I yell, stomping over to them. I don't recognize them. They must be second graders. "Quit picking on him!" I yell at them.
"It's Bill!! Come on, we gotta get out of here!!" The three run. I look at the small brunette. He has tears in his brown eyes and his forehead is slightly uncovered, revealing a birthmark showing a constellation of Little Dipper. He has a shirt with a pine tree on it. I smile at him.
"Don't listen to them. They're just jerks. What's your name?"
He wipes away his tears. "Dipper..."
"Well, Dipper, I'm gonna call you Pine Tree." He looks a little upset. "What? It's a cute nickname. It suits you, I'm not trying to be mean." He pouts a little. "What grade are you in?" I ask him.
"First..." I was about to speak before a voice inturupts us.
"Dipper! Dipper, where are you?!" I turn around to see a girl who looks almost exactly like him, but doesn't have a birthmark like him. She looks and sees us. On her cheek, she has a sticker of a shooting star. She smiles. "There you are!" She rushes over and hugs the boy. "Dipper, who's your friend?"
"Uh..."
"Oh, that's right!" I forgot to say my name. "I'm Bill, I'm in the third grade, and I just saved Dipper from some bullies!" I say proudly.
"Hi Bill!" The girl responds. "My name's Mabel! I'm Dipper's twin sister." She smiles brightly as Dipper looks at me.
I point at Dipper. "Pine Tree." I then look at Mabel, pointing are her and saying the first thing that came to mind. "Shooting Star." She giggles.
"I like those nicknames!" She says.
The teacher's then come and start leading the students back to class. "Goodbye, Bill!"
"Bye Bill... thank you for helping me." I smile at Dipper and wave to the two twins.
My teacher comes along and leads the class back to the classroom.
Through the rest of the day, I think about Pine Tree. He's such an adorable kid... I was told once that blue and brown eyes go together, and so do blonde and brown hairs... and that would be me and him! That person told me 'When you get older, find yourself a nice pretty girl with brown hair and brown eyes.' I asked him what to do if I couldn't find one, and he responded, 'Then find a handsome young boy with brown hair and brown eyes.'
But... mum also told me that only boys and girls can be together...
He has a twin sister, right? So that means that I would like her too, right?
But I don't. Mum would get mad, though. Wait... I don't have to tell her, right?
Why do I even like a boy? Boys are supposed to like girls and girls are supposed to like boys, and that's it.
... right?
Hmph. Maybe I just like him being my friend. I don't have many friends, and I did only just meet the twins, and they're in first grade. I'm two years ahead of them.
