If you have any drinks -- hide them. - Tina Danielson

A month later...

"Here's the issue" Collette placed this month's issue of Mode in front of me. Lucy Lui was on the cover, some interview exclusive on her role in the new Sherlock show, she played Watson I think? I loved the novels of Sherlock Holmes but I couldn't bring myself to watch this modern version of the books but apparently it was good. One of these days I was going to have to let my prejudices go and watch an episode.

This was one of the privileges of working for a magazine; you get the first look at the new issue. It's fascinating how so much work (a month's work) went into two hundred pages in a magazine. There was blood sweat and tears in this magazine that the readers will never know of.

"Awesome" I say as Collette takes the seat next to me and we started flipping through. This has been our tradition for about a year, when Collette started working here.

I was feigning nonchalance as I was flipping through the magazine quicker than I usually did, for one main reason...or should I say person.

It was a month ago when Bridgette interviewed Bruno Mars and he gave me tickets to his concert, which rocked. The whole night was a whirlwind. I haven't seen or heard from him since that night but maybe that was a good thing...Things were left sweet and uncomplicated where things often had way of becoming tangled and complex. My heart still skipped a beat whenever I heard his name being mentioned or heard a song on the radio, especially one that he sang at that concert, I'm looking for that skipped beat in the magazine when I see the exposé on him.

"Whoa, stop there, Teen" Collette pulled the magazine more into the middle as I started flipping through pages in the multiples of three, I see why. On top of page eighty the headline Bruno Mars first time exclusive on Vegas Scandal. I drew in a breath. "I'm still jealous you got to observe the interview"

"I was Bridgette's lapdog" I deadpanned to Collette as I read through the interview, I was present for most of it but it was refreshing my memory and making the repaly in my head more vivid. The looks, the jokes... "But it was nice..." I admitted.

"Still can't believe he did it" Collette shrugged superficially

"We don't know if he actually did it" I said before thinking, maybe that sounded a bit too defensive. "...I mean he just seemed genuinely sorry...but whatever" I tried shrugging it off but even I could tell I sounded unnatural.

"Yeah...you're right, we don't know the whole story, probably never will." Collette said quietly "You heard about his court case?"

"Yeah...two hundred hours of community service, right?"

"And a year without felony" She added.

"Shit, I don't even think I can do that" I joked.

I walked out of the building by five, I was all but ready for a nice shower and watch some reruns of Friends which I knew off by heart, which I have no shame in admitting. I walked to my car when I felt my phone ring from my pocket; I took it out and looked at the caller iD.

"Hey Raye" I greeted my friend.

"Teen, where are you?" Raye's voice was loud, there was some commotion going on around her, a lot of talking.

"Just left Mode, what's up?" I opened my car door and sat in the driver's side. One glance at my mirror and I saw my hair was a mess so I bunched it up into a ponytail.
