 VAER

BLOOD TEST

I should go over it.

Yes, I should and that so important moment in my life had arrived.

In fact, I was a vampire of a molecular species and that would be added to me full powers or not.

Nevertheless, that night would be proven this.

My grandfather Vincent was in the main room, along with my father, my mother, and Enzo. I came to the room shortly after, holding my fingers. Because these were the parts of my body more accessible in reason of me at that so hopeless moment.

I was twelve years old and had become a teenager in a general way. My physiognomy portrayed this period of my life. My face was changing according to time, taking me to the pubertal stage. My breasts were like two lumps of some fruit with its gravelly interior.

"Vaer, come here, dear!"

My grandfather exposed and extended his right arm in my direction. His smile showed on his face a few seconds later, while I remained to walk in his direction. My being was devastated on that occasion I brought in my mind the weight of the revelation that could change my life that night. After the test that would identify me as strong or weak in our caste of vampires.

I knew everyone there secretly cheered for the test could classify me as strong.

But I also wished for it in my deep being. Or I would be condemned to have a guardian after me for the rest of my life.

Really I didn't want it.

What good would I be the daughter of vampires and not have full power to claim it?

Maybe I'd rather have not been born and go through this humiliation if it happened actually that night.

"Dear, don't be scared."

My mother uttered while she was dressed in a long dress in ruby color. She was as beautiful as ever. My mother had hundreds of years and was a young man of nineteen. Her skin, her long black hair, nothing had changed in her body through the centuries.

"That's just a test, my daughter."

She continued saying, trying to make me more relaxed. But I believed that it did not work because my answer was completely contradictory to everything she said seconds ago.

"This Test will decide my destiny, Mother."

I looked at the face of each one there and I felt like an idiot vampire princess in a luxurious princess-style dress in the eggplant color.

There was a tiara of dark jewels on top of my head. My mother also wore one that was much more decorated than mine. But her tiara honored its owner, but my tiara was unfounded. Because I should not carry a diamond tiara on my head, if my blood accused blue.

"After this test, you will know what molecular species I am ..."I paused. "... If simply I am weak or strong."

I looked down and stopped in front of my grandfather. I wanted to be like him. So strong and courageous to decide everything in my life. To decide my future and what to do to it.

But not, I was always submitted to the orders of my grandfather-master, father, and mother. They always decided everything in my existence and my mother resolved always what clothes I should wear and what hairstyle to do each day. I did not feel the owner of myself. I felt like a doll that should receive specific cares.

"Vaer, It doesn't matter what your test accuses this night." My father affirmed, laying his great hands on my shoulders and approaching me with all zeal of a benefactor protector.

"You will always be our dear daughter, regardless of your abilities."

"Yes, darling."

My mother said as well and joined us. She touched the side of my face and tried to fix a lock of my dark hair that came to the front of my face. So putting out of order my arrangement for that ceremony that was expected since I came to exist there after giving goodbye to my mother's tight womb.

"We Love you very much, regardless of whether the color of your blood will be blue or red."

I remained silent and Enzo looked at my back. He realized that I was unhappy on that occasion. Maybe he could comprehend what I was really feeling, but I could not say and show all my fears that were not even finished inside me. I could never stop them indeed.

"Let's start the test."

Vincent ordered and so my father and my mother walked away from me and opened a way for me to give one more step further and stop in front of the master of the vampires.

The Neptune's King , with his long dark hair became one of the most beautiful vampires in the Eighth planet. But it was funny, because my father, my grandfather, and Enzo were the only vampires that lived in that orb. The three of them had formidable beauties.

"Dear, give me your right hand."

Vincent asked me fondly. His voice came out softly across his pale lips. Even so, I hesitated to put my hand in his and let him do the rest.

When my hand extended in his palm. My grandfather looked at my palm and saw the four lines of life as perfectly in the shape of a 'M'.

Then he lifted his gray eyes and looked at my scared face. I refused to relax in the moment like that. On that occasion, I wanted to believe that there was no blue or red blood. No Sabbath could evaluate the quality and color of my progeny.

"It will hurt a little."

He warned me and soon after, his nail of the index finger had grown to a certain size and the tip of his claw slid down one of the lines of life in the palm of my hand. I ended up closing my eyes and releasing a soft moan. A lamentation of discomfort and pain.

"Mmmmrrr"

Everyone, there was looking toward my open palm between my grandfather's right hand and this very moment, they saw precisely the succinct moment when Vincent's sharp nail tore softly one of the lifelines in my palm and along with it, the blue blood appeared on the surface of my palm.

I ended up opening my eyes, looking directly at it and seeing the blue blood in the middle of my hand. My canine teeth pointed out my eyes from gray became neon blue from that moment.

My mother covered her own mouth in astonishment and released an extensive groan in scare.

"Ooohhhh"

All were silent and motionless. No one could say anything. Only my eyes that released a misfortune tear of blood in the blue color.

I had just discovered what my molecular species belonged to and what I would be classified from now on.

That was lamentable to say, but I would need a guardian after me for the rest of my life.

Because the answer came from my grandfather's lips at that second.

"I'M SORRY TO INFORM YOU, BUT VAER IS BLUE BLOOD."

He paused his pronunciation as he was feeling a little disappointed with the result.

"She is from the weak species."
