THE SERMON

We entered the house after Enzo had traversed the open window of the living room, still with me in his arms. After that, he put me standing on the living room floor and then his dark wings were hidden. However, I stood there, looking at the skirt of my dress. I remembered the horrible scenes by having almost experienced the taste to fall on the hard ground after an unforeseen fall from the top of a Ferris wheel with more than 70 meters high.

It was lamentable my first meeting had been a disaster and submitted to the unexpected help from my guardian.

Enzo seemed satisfied that I had come home more rapidly and still had been saved once again by him. That just gave us the assurance that my grandfather was right by having the brilliant idea to send him there to perform his mission and take care of me.

"I do not need to ask you how your first meeting was."

He whispered with back to me as removing the black cape from his body. I kept looking at the floor by still feeling sad because of that episode that had ruined my ride at the amusement park.

Everything had started with fascination and had ended with bitterness.

"I think it is much clear that you are in danger to try to live and have fun like humans."

He affirmed, turning to me and looking at my motionless image, after feeling a defeated. I had no vampire powers not even to firm myself on an iron chair in the middle of the heights. This feeling was terrifying. Soon I thought that if this had happened to Enzo, he would have found a way of leaving that chair without going through so many dangers. At least, he would neutralize his fall and all that shame.

"That was just an accident."

I tried to convince him, but Enzo pulled out a chair and sat on it, consequently crossing his pair of boots on the sofa arm. His arms crossed at the time of his stomach and he started with his sermons ever, acting as an older brother, who always had better sense than his younger sister.

"Vaer, it just shows you that you run danger among the humans. Even if is only by accident."

He got up and stood in front of me. His body grew before me in one such way I was forced to make a retreat toward my back. Really I felt more scared with his approach with an iron chest.

"You were in danger at that damned amusement park and if it was not me, the human would not save you."

He moved away in a purposeful way and turned to the side with nothing to do.

"That human is unable to even to defend an insect."

Now he stared me back in the face, with a troubled look and his thought looked doubtfully.

"What did you see in that guy?"

I lowered my head. I also did not know how to answer that question.

In this instant, Enzo went to the kitchen, opened the refrigerator and took a drink prepared with an animal liver. Its color was so red. So he filled his glass and began drinking it, bit by bit, without great effort. After that, he made his way to the living room and saw me standing in the same place, maybe in shock. Because nothing had gone the way I wanted to, the way I imagined and dreamed during the night.

I left home wishing a kiss on the lips during the ride and came back to my temporary residence without it.

Could the human girl have the same luck like mine on the first date?

Or was it just me? Who besides being a blue-blooded vampire, had not even lucky in love?
