Lay, My One and Only

Chapter 1

Hi. My name is Huang Karrera. I happen to have 3 older brothers...and one of them is Tao of EXO. I am 23 and I am a college student majoring in the medical field. I am honestly a huge fan of EXO. I really admire them all and I enjoy their music. Not because my brother's in the group, but because I also really like them. I have never visited their dorm because Tao is always busy with schedules and I am busy with mine. We just seem to never have time to see each other. We used to be so close, before we moved to Korea. Back in China, Tao was one of my best friends.

But, to continue...my best friends...Hannah and Erika were texting me. Hannah and Erika are two Korean girls from America which is why they have American names. But they still speak and look pure Korean.

Hannah & Erika: Karrera COME ON!!!!! You HAVE to come to the mall with us!

Constant texts of those same words kept spamming me. I honestly hate the mall. I know, shocking right? Being the sister of fashionista Tao. But, I'm more of a tom-boy, and I hate shopping.

Karrera: I don't like shopping! I don't want to come!

Hannah & Erika: PLEASE KARRERA!?

Again they were spamming me. I rolled my eyes. Knowing these two there's never a way out unless they get their way.

Karrera: Aish, FINE.

Suddenly, I was regretting it a little. I'd much rather just stay at home and relax then go to the mall to shop.

Hannah: Great! Erika and I will pick you up in a little bit.

Ugh. I wish that someone lived with me to get me out of this mess. I put on my red converse and slipped on an oversized hoodie. I waited for some time because Hannah and Erika are always "fashionably late." Aish. Sometimes these girls really get on my nerves. But finally, they reached my house and I hopped into the backseat.

On the road to the mall we were listening to EXO's Growl, but the EXO-M version. It honestly deserves more recognition. And soon, we reached the huge mall. While I was still trying to get out of the car, Erika and Hannah were already at the front entrance, looking at the signs for which stores have what deals and sales.

" Karrera! Slow ass!! Come on!!!" yelled Erika. I sped up my pace and finally caught up with them. They ran to some of the stores in which I didn't even know existed and in the flash of an eye they came out with many bags hanging across their lower arms and wrists. They immediately handed them all to me so that they could be free handed shopping. Great. THIS was going to be fun. Yeah. Sarcasm.

About 3 hours later, I was getting so tired from all the piles of bags they kept handing me. At this point people were asking me if I needed help carrying the bags. But I declined, and I told the girls that I was hungry, which I was. I was starving. The three of us walked towards the food court. While we were waiting in line, I was looking at my phone, checking to see what was new on my feed. The line was long, and I was facing towards the cashier as the girls were looking around like they had never been here before. And suddenly, out of no where, Hannah and Erika began tapping my shoulders rapidly and panting super hard. It was like they had just seen a famous person. They kept tapping me to the point where I got annoyed and I turned around...and I couldn't believe my eyes.

I saw Zhang Yixing, also known as Lay, from EXO. He was approaching me, and he seemed a little nervous because he kept fidgeting and he was a little sweaty telling by his shiny face.

" Hi. Umm...I'm Lay, from EXO. Do you know me?" I was in such shock that all I could do was nod with my eyes wide open like Kyungsoo. I couldn't break my stare because I couldn't believe who was in front of me.

" Hey, sorry...but...um...what's your...name?" he asked. I again just froze. My BIAS FROM EXO JUST CAME UP TO ME AND ASKED MY NAME.

I couldn't move a muscle. I couldn't even look away for god's sake!

Hannah helped me out. BLESS YOU HANNAH. " Karrera. Karrera's her name."

" Oh! That's such a beautiful name! Oh, uh, by the way. Can I have your number? Here's mine..." he handed me a phone number written on a napkin. I tore the napkin in half and wrote down my number. I handed it to him and he seemed really nervous but happy that I gave him my number.

" Thanks! Umm...well...I gotta go. I'm in a rush...Bye!" He waved to me and immediately ran to Luhan, whom he went shopping with. I know that they're best friends. I love EXO and plus I still talk with Tao sometimes and he keeps me updated. They both looked at me while my friends were jumping around from excitement. They both know that I have a HUGE crush on Zhang Yixing. I studied the two guys from afar and as Yixing pointed to me, Luhan made a face. He seemed...impressed...?

" Did that...really happen? Or am I halucinating?" I asked with a surprised face. My friend's faces were literally going to burst.

" Yes! Looks like someone's idol  has a crush on them!" exclaimed Erika with a burst of joy.

I joined my friends and started screaming and jumping up and down. We didn't even take our food. We just ran to the parking lot and drove home. Hannah told me that she was guessing that he was going to call her today. I kept rolling my eyes. It can't be, right? Erika and Hannah just kept giggling while I was lost in thought.

Does he know that I'm Tao's little sister? Did he really want my number or did Tao just prank me? If he does like me, will he ask me out? What if Tao found out?

I was literally dozed off until Hannah slapped my knee.

" KARRERA! YOUR PHONE'S RINGING! ANSWER IT! WHERE YOU DAYDREAMING!? C'MON QUICKLY! HE WILL HANG UP!!!"

I almost lost control of myself. I quickly took my phone out of my pocket and answered it.

" Hello? " I asked a little quietly. It was an unknown ID but Hannah and Erika kept fangirling over the fact that it was probably Yixing. 

" Hi Karrera! It's Lay, remember me? We met today at the mall..." his voice drifted off a little. Cutie!

" Oh hi! Lol I'm sorry that I was a little dozed off today, I just wasn't feeling so well." I made an excuse. It seemed believable, right? It would just be awkward if I said that I was fangirling over him. XD

" No worries! Oh, and... are you free tonight?" I looked at Hannah and Erika. They frantically nodded with large smiles planted on their face. They were happier than me, I swear!

" Uh...y-yeah. I am," I replied. I was so scared for some reason! But, I mean, who wouldn't be!? What would YOUR reaction be if this happened!?

" Great! Where can I pick you up from? " he asked. His voice was now more cheerful. I had no specific destinations so I wondered if he could pick me up from home.

" Can you pick me up from my house? I'll text you the address," I said, just a little unsure.

" Sure! I'll be there at 7. See you soon!"

" Bye!" I hung up. I huffed out all the air. I was literally holding my breath the whole phone call. I couldn't believe it. This has GOT to be the best day ever! First I MET my bias from EXO, next he ASKS ME OUT! Ah this is too good to be true! What did I do to deserve this!?
