The Convention

You lifted your heels up and down off of the concrete floor below you. With "Songs of Time" being clutched in your left hand, your phone in your right, you slowly made your way up the line, closer and closer to meeting your hero. You had waited so long for this moment to come and it was almost here, he was only a few feet away. Three people were in front of you, and many behind, all there for the same reason. Finally, it was your turn, you were standing right there in front of him. He turned away from the last person in line and his gaze fixed on you, his dark brown eyes looking into yours. He smiled at you and you couldn't help but smile back.

"Hello! I'm NateWantsToBattle!"

He said, holding out a hand. Your heart jumped and your stomach flipped. After placing your phone on the blue table in front of you, you took Nate's hand in yours.

"I'm y/n."

You said, shaking his hand, barely able to get the words out.

"C-can you sign this please."

You said as you let go of Nate's hand. You held out "Songs Of time" In front of him.

"Of course!"

Nate said, taking the album out of your hands.

"Y/n,"

Your heart skipped a beat as you heard Nate... THE Nate...your favorite YouTuber, say your name.

"I like your shirt."

Quickly, you gazed down at your shirt. It had pink and white writing on it that said "Wear a mask to hide yourself when really it makes us the same." Mangled was one of your favorite songs, and to you, the shirt was perfect.

"T-thanks Nate."

Nate just smiled and handed you back the album.

"C-can I get a picture please?"

You said looking up at him.

"Of Course!"

He replied as you walked over to him. Nate wrapped his arm around you and you could barely move. Nate was literally right there! You held out your phone in front of you and snapped a few pictures.

"Well, thanks for coming all the way here to see me!"

Nate pulled his arm away. Your happiness turned into sadness as you heard those words. You knew what it meant, you had to leave.

"Bye Nate!"

You said to him.

"Bye Y/n!"

He replied, moving on to talk to the next person in line. Once again, you held onto the album, smiling every time you looked at the black squiggles that made up his signature on it. You continued to look around the convention and Nate was always on your mind.

"Wow, I finally met him!"

You muttered to yourself looking at the various booths and merchandise.

"Y/n!"

You heard someone yell your name. Startled, you turned around. A person was running towards you, right away, you knew who it was.

"Nate?"

You said confused as he stopped in front of you, out of breath.

"Y-you left this on the table."

Nate said, holding out your phone in one hand. Startled, you hit the side of your pocket with your hand. Sure enough, the phone wasn't in there.

"Thanks Nate! Wow, I can't believe that I left it there!"

Nate let out a small laugh.

"Don't worry about it! I've gotta get back to the booth, but hopefully I'll see you again."

Once again, Nate ran back to his booth where he had been signing autographs.

"By the way, I like your wallpaper."

He yelled to you as he ran. Your face turned red as you looked down at your phone. Your wallpaper was, and had been for a while, a picture of Nate. You unlocked your phone and opened up your camera roll. Sure enough, the selfie of you and Nate was there. However, there was also about ten selfies of just Nate after it. You squealed in excitement as you looked at each one. He must have taken them after he found the phone. The last picture in your camera roll was a video. Excited, you played it.

"Hey Y/n! You left your phone on the table so I thought that it would be nice to leave you a few pictures. Also, you seem like a really cool person, we should hang out sometime! xxx-xxx-xxxx. Enjoy the rest of your time at the con!"

Your eyes widened as you stared at the phone number.

"Oh my god!"
You yelled, not caring if others heard you.

"NateWantsToBattle likes me! This is the best day of my life!"

Happily, you walked around for a few more minutes, still clutching onto the album and your phone. It truly was the best day of your life.
