(In honor of the first day of October, here's an October themed imagine. There should be more on the way this month :3)
The sound of people talking could be heard all around the large field, along with the crisp fall air. The yearly fall festival had arrived and you decided to bring Nate with you this year. There was so many things to do such as pick out pumpkins and look around at some fun games that people were playing. You looked around at some of the vendors with Nate by your side.
"What do you want to do first?"
You said as Nate walked over to various stands.
"I'm not sure. What do you want to do?"
You grinned. You had your eye on one thing, the corn maze. It appeared every year, each year they changed it so the path would never be the same exact thing twice.
"Come on Nate, this is going to be fun."
You said, pulling Nate towards the giant corn field that was located in the back of the festival.
"I don't know Y/n, I haven't been in a maze like this before. It's huge!"
Nate replied, only slightly concerned.
"You're going to have fun Nate, I promise!"
You said, giving him a reassuring smile. You both entered the maze and began to walk forward. After about a minute, there was no turning back, the corn walls were twice your height and the corn was growing close together. The only way out was to follow the many paths. You made a right turn as Nate made a left. After one more sharp turn, you were blocked by a wall of green corn stocks.
"Not this way."
You yelled to Nate, hearing a faint 'come here' in the distance. You turned around and ran back to Nate's path, catching up with him a few seconds after. You tapped him on the shoulder, which made him jump. He let out a "Manly" scream. You fell to the dirt floor laughing.
"That's not funny Y/n!"
Nate said, holding one hand to his chest.
"I'm sorry."
You said, standing up and giving Nate a quick hug. Nate smiled and you walked in front of him, leading the way. Both of you ended up in a clearing in the maze. Instead of a straight path, it was a large square of area, paths branching off of it. You heard a crow call out in the distance, and watched as it landed right in front of Nate. Nate basically jumped into your arms as he saw it dive towards him.
"This isn't supposed to be a scary maze."
You said, trying not to laugh.
"I know.... that bird just caught me off guard."
Nate said, trying not to laugh himself. He lifted his arms in the air and frantically waved them around like wings.
"Caw! Caw! Leave you stupid bird!"
Nate said, inching closer to the crow. The crow turned it's head to the side and slowly flew away.
"Good job, you really scared that bird."
You said sarcastically. Nate looked back at you.
"I am your savior Y/n ."
He said in a deep voice as he pulled you closer.
"You're my hero Nate."
You said in a high pitched voice. Nate let go of you and you looked around at all of the paths. You both then picked a path and continued to walk through the maze. The path lead to a dead end and you turned around, arriving back at the clearing. You tried the path next to it and it brought you farther. You looked to your right and almost jumped.
"I don't like that."
You said, backing away from the scarecrow that was hung on a stick, standing taller than the corn. It wasn't on the path, but it was still very easy to see. You inched a little closer to get a better look.
"Yeah, me either."
Nate said, trying to pull you back on the path quickly. Every now and then, you looked back at the scarecrow, but soon gave up on watching it. There were a few more twists and turns and you came across a large wooden platform with stairs leading up to it. You climbed up it and noticed a sign attached to it. It said 'End' on it, written in purple paint.
"Nate, we did it!"
You said, admiring the view. Nate quickly climbed up the staircase and stood next to you. You looked back at the maze, all of the paths that you had made it through to get to where you were standing. With your hands on your sides you then realized that there was no exit through the back of the maze.
"Now we have to find the way back."
Nate stopped celebrating and looked back at the maze.
"Great."
He said, already jumping off of the elevated platform.
"Let's go."
He said, surprisingly still smiling. You jumped down and followed after him.
"I'm gonna lead the way, I got this."
Nate said, triumphantly walking through the paths. You snickered and followed behind him.
