You drowsily walked into the dark room, dropping your bag on the floor, which caused a small thud. With one last glance at your phone, you turned it off. The time was 12:30, pretty late for you. You carefully pulled up the comforter on your side of the bed and slid inside, trying not to wake up Nate who appeared to be fast asleep next to you. You turned your head to face him for a second to make sure that he was asleep, but all you could see was the top of his head, the rest submerged in the covers. With a relaxed sigh, you turned to face the wall and closed your eyes. It felt great to be in bed after such a long day. After a few minutes, you felt Nate turn over, now facing your back. You could feel him slightly inch closer, his face almost buried in your shirt. His arm rested on top of you, and he began to gently rub your shoulder a few times. You turned over to face him without opening your eyes. After a few seconds, you forced yourself to open one eye, despite how tired you were. You could see Nate, he only had one eye slightly open as well. In the darkness, you could see him let out a small grin. You gave a small smile back and ran one hand through his black hair. It was very soft, you almost didn't want to let go. You pulled your hand away from his head and wrapped an arm around his side, holding him close to you. Nate pulled you even closer and continued to have one arm tightly around you. You rested your head on his chest, listening to his calm heartbeat. The rhythm was soothing, and you soon drifted off to sleep.
The next morning you woke up, your head still resting on Nate's chest. You sat up slightly and looked over at Nate, who was still asleep. His hair was a mess, going in all different directions. You laughed to yourself and lay back down, resting your head on the pillow. Only then did you realize that Nate still had his arm around you. You glanced over at it. In the darkness, you didn't notice that he was wearing a tank top, but now you could easily see his arms and muscles. It made you feel safe knowing that Nate was always by your side. Sunlight had begun to seep through the curtains, making you glance at the digital clock on the nightstand. It read 10:30. Knowing that you had things to do around the house, you carefully got up, trying not to wake Nate up. However, as you sat up all the way you heard Nate let out an annoyed groan as he pulled you back down next to him. You just snickered to yourself and allowed him to bring you closer to him. He wrapped his other arm around you, making sure that you couldn't leave. You smiled and allowed it.
"I'm not going anywhere Nate, don't worry."
You said with a laugh. Nate smiled with out opening his eyes. He continued to hold onto you, both of you drifting off to sleep once again.
