You nervously shifted back and fourth in your somewhat high heels, watching the door in front of you as you zoned out slightly.
"Y/n, you okay?"
The voice snapped you back to reality and your face grew hot for a few moments. You turned your head to face the person next to you. It was your friend, one of your best friends to be exact. They had taken you all around town to find the perfect dress for this day and you both had spent the night planning your exact moves which were now just moments away.
"Yeah I'm fine F/n... just a little nervous..."
You mumbled the last part slightly. Your friend brushed the side of your dress with her hand for a moment.
"You're gonna be fine Y/n, this should be one of the best days of your life-it's going to be!"
You smiled at the thought of everything. Ever since Nate proposed to you, your mind had begun to think of all possible outcomes for the future. The mere thought of you and Nate starting a whole new life together made you giddy on its own.
"Y/n... it's time."
Your friend said to you in a soft voice. After taking a deep breath followed by a heavy sigh, you nodded. Your friend then proceeded to open the heavy doors as music began to play in the distance. You walked into the room, all eyes turned to face your direction. In the crowd of people sitting down you saw all familiar faces. Family members and both yours and Nate's friends smiled at you as you made your way down the isle. You glanced up and saw Nate standing in the distance. He was sporting a tuxedo and tie along with dark grey pants and a large grin on his face. He looked at you, causing his smile to grow wider. Finally, you were standing across from him, looking into his dark brown eyes.
"You look beautiful."
He whispered as he scanned you up and down quickly.
"Thank you, you're looking pretty handsome yourself."
You replied with a smile. Nate smiled back and the justice of the peace began to speak.
"We are gathered here today to witness the marriage of Y/n L/n and Nathan Smith."
You smiled at the thought of that sentence, trying your best to conceal your excitement. Nate's eyes looked into yours once more and he took your hands in his, which calmed your nerves slightly.
"Do you, Nathan Smith, take Y/n L/n to be your wife?"
Nate continued to look into your eyes and smiled.
"I do."
He said, holding onto your hands slightly tighter for a moment, then loosening his grip.
"Do you, Y/n L/n, take Nathan Smith to be your husband?"
You smiled, Nate's eyes still glistening.
"I do."
You said with a small chuckle. The rings were then brought up. Nate slid yours onto your ring finger and you did the same with his. After a few seconds of looking down at each others hands in disbelief, the wedding continued on.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Nate pulled his hands away from yours and his arms wrapped around your back as he embraced you in a hug, then proceeding to touch his lips to yours. The kiss lasted for a good while, the sound of cheering coming from the seats in front of you. Nate then let go of the kiss, both of you with the same large grin on your faces.
"We did it!"
You said with a laugh.
"Yep, now let's go home!"
Nate replied. You began to walk back down the isle but was stopped by Nate picking you up bridal style. He carried you down the isle, looking over at everyone in their seats that were still applauding. You glanced over towards your friend behind Nate's shoulder. They smiled at you and gave you a thumbs-up just as you turned the corner. Once again, you lifted up your hand to look at your ring, still amazed by everything. You then rested your arm back around Nate's shoulders. He continued to carry you and seemed to do it surprisingly effortlessly. Nate was going to keep you safe, no matter what the future threw at you both. You already knew it and were excited to start this new chapter of your life.
