Yesterday was amazing. My friends and I went to the mall and movies, later that night we went to a party and didn't return until almost 4 in the morning. It felt good to be around all of them because we aren't going to see each other until December.

Today Tobias is going to take me out and I'm really excited. With my mom working later than usual, Tobias and I have the house to ourselves. Then, around the afternoon Caleb would come home and we would eat lunch and watch a movie together. I don't know where in hell Tobias is going to take me, but he said that we are going to be outside.

I know that it's pretty cold outside so I decide on a pair of black jeans, a black turtle neck, with a long khaki trench coat. I go to the bathroom, the steam from Tobias and I previous shower steaming the mirror. I wipe it down and apply some eyeliner and mascara, and nude lipstick. I pull my hair into a high low ponytail after curling it, and I leave the bathroom to see Tobias placing his black boots on his large feet, I let out a sigh and sit down, glancing down at my heeled-knee-high-boots.

Tobias sits up and gives me a smile, I've gotten used to Tobias being here and every time I think of him leaving to go back, a pain goes through my chest knowing that we'll be separated once again. I smile back at him and he stands to his feet, towering over me, "Hello beautiful." He presses a kiss on my nose, tapping my nose ring.

"Hello handsome," I give him a smile, grabbing my tall umbrella since it's pretty gray outside. Tobias and I make our way downstairs and I get into his large Hummer. Tobias and I drone in small talk as he drives us around, music playing softly in the background. Within 10 minutes, I see us pull up to the Navy Pier and a large smile breaks out across my face. I absolutely love the Navy Pier, the Ferris wheel is something that I like the most. Even though Tobias hates the height, I always used to drag him on there and distract him with conversation and kisses, "They've done a lot of renovation since our fifth date." I tell him as I get out of the car and we start to walk along the boardwalk.

"They have," Tobias nods his head and grabs my hand, "I never really asked you in depth, but how is college treating you?" Tobias asks.

"It's treating me fine, I have some exams to finish when I get back but my grades are looking good." I nod my head, running my fingers through my curls. He nods his head at me, "What about you? Have you met any friends?" We slow down our pace, looking around the boardwalk actually spending time together.

"Well, the classes are hard but I spend most of my time in the library to study. I have a job up there, I work at another Lowe's, it's enough to keep food in my dorm and enough for supplies. As for friends, I miss all of you guys, so it's not the same. But, as you know I met my neighbor, Gabe. And I have another friend, her name is Lauren."

My heart sinks to my toes and I try to hide the hurt on my face, instead I mask it with a weak laugh, "Her?" I question, mocking my boyfriend when I told him that I befriended Matthew. Tobias looks at me through the corner of his eye, probably feeling me out. On the inside, I am fuming but on the outside I look calm, "I'm just playing Tobias, I don't mind. I trust you." I tell him and I hear him let out a sigh of relief.

"That makes me feel bad for treating you like a douche-bag when you told me about Marty."

"It's Matthew, but you should." I tell him with a chuckle.

You definitely should Tobias.

After walking around the Pier, we decide to get lunch at Giordano's―one of the best deep dish pizzas in Chicago, Tobias brought me here for our fifth date. The pizza isn't like New York pizza when I lived there, but it's absolutely delicious. We both get fried mozzarella cheese for the appetizer, and I can't help but to notice that Tobias is typing on his phone more often. I decide to ignore it for now instead of acting like a complete lunatic, I need to be rational and give him space.

"You know," Tobias places his phone― that he cares so much about at the moment― down on the glossed, wooden table. "Our anniversary is coming up." My spirit is instantly lifted up at the sound of that. On December 5th, that will mark our 3 year anniversary together. It was a few weeks until Winter when Tobias asked me out, we flirted and went on a few lunch and dinner dates but we were nothing serious until he took me to Millennium Park to walk around and then he drove me to one of the local candy/ice-cream shops that is a family owned place, Margie's Candies, to indulge in ice cream and there is where he asked me to be his girlfriend, mid-lick.

"Yes, sadly you won't be there with me." I pout, I grab his shoulders and make us lock eyes together, "Don't. Forget. To. Call. Me." He chuckles and nods his head, pressing a kiss on my lips before he takes a sip of his beer. The waiter returns with our pizza we got a deep dish cheese and it is delicious. We continue to talk and eat, I soak in the moments that I am sharing with Tobias because I know that soon he will be gone and I will have to wait again.

Around 2, we get up and pay, leaving a tip. We make our way to the boardwalk again and we talk as we peer down at the water, we reach the end and I lean against the wooden railing that holds us back from the calm but deadly water below us, "Tris, I know that I'm not going to be here when our anniversary comes up. So, I got you an early present." He smiles and reaches into his pocket and hands me a red velvet box and I open it and gasp, there is a rose gold bracelet that goes with the promise ring Tobias got for me. The rose gold has a white diamond heart and a white diamond ice-cream cone. "The heart is for our love, us first being together, and the cone for our first date." Tobias presses a kiss to my lips and I smile, letting him clasp the beautiful bracelet on my wrist, opposite of my ring.

"It's beautiful! I love you Tobias!" I smile and kiss Tobias on the lips, "You spoil me."

"I should, and I will." He laughs.

I look down at the shiny, expensive ring and bracelet, "You shouldn't, I don't deserve this. But, thank you and I love you."

"I love you too!"
