[Tobias]
Who the hell is that getting comfortable with my girlfriend? Instead of reacting like expected, I take a deep breath and follow everyone inside of the place where we are going to eat at. I walk up beside Tris and wrap my arm around Tris' waist, giving that dude a pointed look. Everyone seems to know him well except for me. He introduced himself as Mickey but doesn't say much, obviously he know's Tris well if he gave her a damn hug.
"You guys will forever love me, this place is amazing." Shauna says as we browse through the menu's after ordering our drinks. It took a lot to not get some alcohol. But, we're in the day time and I'm with friends, I can't keep going to alcohol to mask my problems because I will end up just like my father and end up hurting Tris in no way that I can take back, "Isn't it babe?"
Zeke nods his head in agreement as his menu is folded in front of him like he know's exactly what he wants, "It is, best place we could have stumbled across." He points out as my eyes skim the letters. Everything sounds appetizing so when the waiter comes back with our drinks and warm biscuits they fly out of the basket like free money.
I decide to get Sm'Oreo's pancakes which is pancakes that's a mixture of Smores and Oreo's and the Lone Star Benedict. It's much heartier with steak and potatoes with hollandaise sauce. Tris, being much smaller than me but eats like a truck driver who's been on the road forever―I, of course don't know where in the hell she puts it all―she got a smoked turkey club sandwich that has smoked turkey breast, provolone, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, turkey bacon, spinach and a lemon aioli and peach cobbler pancakes with potato hash with toast on the side.
"If this food is horrible, I think we all agree to kill you two." Mickey says and everyone agrees. I had Tris sit on the inside of the booth beside me and my arm is around my shoulder, specifically putting her off limits to this Mr. Mickey Mouse and any other jackass that wants her.
"We should get doughnuts after this." Uriah says, taking a small sip of his soda.
Christina face instantly falls, "Hell. No." She rapidly shakes her head, "Do you know how much longer I will have to spend at the gym? All of this food sounds great but getting more bread is going to throw my whole body off."
"Not like I would, though." Will takes us way back as dirty Will shines through. Obviously by the peachy tint of his cheeks he didn't mean to say that out loud, Christina seems to have an effect on ole' Willy.
Everyone turns to me laughing and I just realized that I said that out loud, "Don't worry, we're all working on it." One of the Walt-Disney characters touches my shoulder and gives me a smile. I fake smile for the sake of Tris and gulp down my soda, enjoying the burning of the bubbles that follow down my throat rather than the harsh singeing of the alcohol.
Marlene is the first to see a waiter walking towards us with tons of tray's and people behind them, we all start making room when they walk straight past us and onto the outside seating patio, "Hell!" Tris throws her head back with annoyance, "Why do I always get so prepared only to be let down?!" She groans, placing her head on my shoulder and of course being my jealous self, I want to yell in that dude's face saying 'hah!'.
"Yes!" Lynn laughs, seeming happier than normally, "Maybe we should all just chill and wait."
"But, if we do that, then they want to come to us when we're not ready and they have to stand there with those hot plates in their hands while we clear the table." Will says, leaning back in the booth.
There is a long silence as we watch people like creeps eat their food and have a nice time while we get feelings to start gnawing on each other's arms, "And to answer your question, Uriah." Marlene looks at her boyfriend with a small grin forming on her face, "No, we aren't going to get doughnuts. You're just speaking while you're hungry, something you should never do; like shopping while hungry."
"I agree." Tumbles out of Shauna's mouth and finally the food arrives. All at once too―just our luck. There is nothing said as we all start to devour our food and moans and words of appreciation is dedicated to the couple. We sit longer than expected when the food is all gone, after hours of talking and laughing and eating, we finally get up and leave.
"Tris, we're going to go shopping at the Water Tower place. Are you coming?" Christina comes and stops us, Tris hums as she thinks and Christina throws her head back with a groan, "Please! Come on! Even Mickey is going!"
That sounds weird, why is Mickey going with a bunch of girls to go shopping, "Yeah, babygirl. I need some new clothes." Mickey has a sh*t-eating grin as he walks over towards us.
Did just hear him correctly? Babygirl? No one, and I mean no one calls her babygirl. That's only me, always, "Hell, no. She isn't going." I'm trying my hardest to stay grounded in my place and remember why in the hell I got a tree that represents peace and kind on my back―to always remember to be kind, I want to be kind.
"Why not? You can't tell me what to do?" Tris crosses her arms over her chest, "I think I want to go."
I loose it when Mickey touches out and grabs Tris by her arm and I lash the hell out and punch him across the face, making him fall against some random person's car. I've seemed to have everyone's attention now as Mickey stands up and touches the blood forming at the side of his mouth.
"--guys, I don't think-" Zeke starts, walking towards us.
"--It's on now!" Mickey starts swinging calculated punches and before I know it we're getting pulled away from each other and people are looking out the window's. I honestly don't care, I've lost too many people in my life to just have someone think they can touch her and have Tris because she is mine's, always. You can look at her, you can think about her, just don't touch her. She's the last hope I have for actually having a reason to be alive, I don't have anyone else and it's almost like having someone take a toy away from a child. Instead, she's more than just a toy. She's my lover, my soulmate, my everything.
"Four! What in the hell is wrong with you?" Tris shoves at my chest and I groan in pain. All I have is one good hit to the chest and jaw that I'm pretty sure would bruise later, "You can't hit a girl or anyone!"
My heart sinks to my toes as I see Lynn examining Mickey's cheek rather closely and how they look much more like lovers than they did inside, "Girl?" I question.
"Yes, stupid! My girlfriend!" Lynn throws her to-go cup at me which I dodge, making the liquid hit by Christina's feet who squeals and shakes the cold drink off her feet, "Who've you hit because you can't seem to get it through your head that you're the not only one who can have Tris' attention for once." She opens the door to their car and ushers Mickey inside and drives off, not without trying to roll over my feet.
"I can't believe you, Will and Christina. Can you take me with you?"
"Tris-" I start and she holds up her hand as everyone starts relaxing and going back to where they started.
"Four, I think we need some time and space." She takes a deep breath and looks like it's paining her to say all of these words, little does she know it's paining me to hear her talk to me like this, "I'll find somewhere to go, but you just need to have some room to think. I don't want to yell anymore, and I just decided that this is the right decision. Don't call me." She slips inside the backseat of Christina and Will's car.
"Tris--" I start again, saying her name louder.
Christina kicks me in the shin scoffing at me before turning around and getting into the passenger side of her car, muttering about me hurting her bestfriend. Will gives me a pitiful look and places his hand on my shoulder, telling me to call him if I need anything but instantly regrets it because Christina shouts that I shouldn't even call them or try to talk to Tris. He gets in the car and leaves me out there, "You screwed up man." Zeke is the last one to give me a pitiful look before they all leave me in the parking lot.
The one thing that has finally happened to me; they left me. The one thing I'm afraid of ―the one thing I've been trying to avoid.
