I look at myself in the mirror, my makeup is simple and my lips are lined with a deep burgundy color. My hair is straight as a pin and tucked behind my ears that have gold earrings in them. Today is the big party that my friends and I are going to tonight, I'm very excited because I get to spend time with Tobias and my dearest friends that I missed while they were away. Christina did hold her word and we didn't go shopping, so I spent all day watching movies and eating leftovers from yesterday. This will be our first time going out of the house.
I give my self one last look before I spray a bit of perfume and leave the bathroom. Tobias looks up from his shoes and furrows his eyebrows at me, "That's what you're wearing?" He questions and my heart falls into an endless pit giving me that stomach drop feeling instead, I'm on a roller coaster that's only going down. I look down at my outfit and frown at the dark creme colored dress, it's simple and hugs all of my curves on my body, it comes a few inches above my knee and has long sleeves.
"What's wrong with it?" I shift on my dark burgundy colored heels. I wanted to dress up more for Tobias, I wanted to feel beautiful and have Tobias' eyes on me all night. I usually don't go all out so I wanted to make tonight unexpected. "You don't like it?" I whisper and cross my arms, my rose gold charm bracelet shining proudly on my wrist.
"No, I love it. I'm just going to be the envy of every person there tonight. They're all going to have their eyes on you," He stands to his feet and towers over me, even if I have on stilettos, he will be taller than me. He places his hands on my shoulders and bends down slightly and presses a kiss to my lips, "I don't think I want that. You know I'm a jealous person." His hands slide down my back and they rest on my butt, I give him a smile and slam my mouth on his. I wrap my arms around his neck and tilt my head to deepen the loving, magnificent, kiss.
"We should go before I cancel on them." He pulls away and gives me a smile, he gives my butt a pat before we separate to finish getting ready. I don't take a handbag with me because I will most likely give Tobias my phone for the night. "Ready?" He asks and I nod my head, we both leave the house and get into his car, light snow coats the ground and stays there due to the freezing temperature. While we were upstairs in my room, it started to snow but since it's been so cold, it hasn't melted yet. Caleb is going to be working all night because he wants to accumulate time so he can get more days off, especially if he doesn't feel like driving on the snowy roads. Mom has been sleeping all day because she thinks she might have to pull an all-nighter due to more injuries on the slick roads and steps.
Tobias pulls in front of the house where the party is going to be held at and I'm taken back. The house is pretty large but not a mansion, the front is glass panels and I can see people faintly dancing but due to the glass being leaded beveled its not that transparent. Cars take up most of the good parking spots and I see Uriah and Will's car as we drive past, Tobias finally finds a good parking spot it's a little far but not close either.
He helps me in the heels that I'm wearing all the way to the front door, he twist the knob and when we first step foot on the wooden floor the smell of sweat, smoke, and alcohol hits my nose and my stomach churns. I feel my boyfriend hand squeeze mines as a boy walks past, winking at me. I reach into Tobias' pocket and grab my phone.
Four and I are here, where are you?- Tris
Kitchen- Chris
Yes, because I just know where the kitchen is- Tris
Further to the back, then make a left- Chris
"Christina is in the kitchen," I shout to Tobias over the thumping bass in the music, I walk through the crowd and I feel someone slap my butt. I turn around expecting Tobias giving me a boyish grin instead he is looking the opposite direction, I keep that to myself and continue to lead us to the kitchen. I take Christina's very vague directions and with a little help I get there and see her leaning against the counter with a drink in her hand while Will whispers in her ear, "Hey." I release Tobias' hand and give both of my friends a hug.
Christina gives me a sly grin as Will and Zeke give each other their manly hug, "You look all dolled up, I really need to lay off and let you dress yourself." She bumps my shoulder, "Don't let Mr. Jealous find one of these guys looking at you." Her eyes glance to the dancing crowd and I turn around and a guy waves at me, I give him a smile and shake my head at Christina.
"Hopefully nothing goes too out of hand." I widen my eyes at her.
"Well, if he does good tonight you can reward him with what's underneath that amazing dress." She winks at me and I chuckle.
"Granny panties." I joke and we both burst into laughter.
I feel a familiar hand clasp down on my shoulder and I whip around to see Matthew standing there, I pull him into a hug and he does the same with Christina, "I'm so glad you could make it Matty!" Christina smiles, she absolutely loves Matthew's witty behavior and I do too―that's why we're friends.
"After circling around the block ten times I found a parking spot. That's what took so long, I'm just hoping that my car doesn't get egged or anything." He tells us with an exaggerated sigh shaking his head.
I feel a large hand slip on my waist and I look over to see Tobias looking down at me, "Who's this?" I see Christina bite her lip to hold back laughter as Tobias furrows his eyebrows and Matthew physically pales.
"Matthew," A wide grin spreads on Matthews face and he extends his hand to Tobias, Tobias glances at me before shaking Matthews hand. Matthew pulls his hand back and shakes it wincing.
"Four," The tension in the air is thick and I just stand there, shifting the weight between my two feet, "Let's go dance." Tobias pulls me to the wild crowd and we find a nice spot that's on the other side of the living room, close to the couch and wall where no one is currently sitting at.
Tobias pulls me close to him and leans down to my ear, "That's the Matthew you were talking about?" I nod my head at him.
"Why?"
"I just wanted to know who was hanging out with my girlfriend―" Tobias gets cut off as Uriah bellows out a laugh and slings his arm around our necks.
"I'm here! Time to party!" He fist pumps and I laugh at him, "Let's go get drinks!" He pulls us by our hands to the kitchen once again and that's where our night starts at.

Three drinks later, Tobias and I are cuddled up on the couch watching Zeke, Uriah, and Marlene dance the night away on the dance floor. Tonight was filled with laughter, dancing, and drinks. Whoever made the eggnog, I give my hat to them because it's delicious, even Tobias had to say that it was good.
"I don't want to go straight home after this," I pout, placing my head on Tobias' shoulder. I want to come home late, I want to live. Hanging out with my friends tonight was fun and just knowing that I have to go home brings down the spirit of the night, I want to act like everything is fine and live like there are no worries in my life.
"We should get food after we go here." Christina says across from the coffee table, sitting on Will's lap.
"Food solves everything." Uriah comes into the conversation, nodding his head rapidly. I always wonder where he puts his food. He eats like he hibernates for the winter.
"Matthew do you want to come with us?" I ask as Tobias lets out a little sigh but I ignore it.
"Sure, Tris. I would love to come."
