They're Only ➵ Chapter 21

He absolutely spoils me. Yesterday was Christmas and the best one I've ever had, not because of the gifts being exchanged, the amount of food, or even seeing Susan's bump. It's because I spent it with my boyfriend who I've been with for two years. Tobias treats me like a queen, he worships me and gives me anything I ask for in a blink of an eye—he's there for me.

He got me a rose gold and diamond necklace to go with my ring and charm bracelet—even a new charm for it: A tall building that has diamonds for the windows. It symbolizes the milestone of him getting an apartment and me helping him and semi-living there. It was thoughtful because with him dealing with school and the headache of the new apartment, he got me two expensive gifts that I don't deserve.

I've never been more grateful for meeting someone, he makes me smile with my heart. He's my bestfriend and brings me a happiness only he can bring, he knows how to just shut up and kiss me when I'm upset or angry at him. He's the best and it couldn't be more simpler or extravagant than that, he's absolutely the best.

"So, what exactly did your hunk of a man say?" Christina asks as I walk out of her bathroom in a robe, "You need to be ready by when?"

Tobias told me that he has something planned for me today, just the two of us. It's a date and I couldn't be more excited than to spend time with my amazing boyfriend, every second counts with him and I know tonight is going to be fun. He said that I need to wear something warm, but elegant. So, what better person to help me get ready for this date than my own bestfriend? We've all been busy catching up with our boyfriends for the time being, so I don't get to see Christina a lot. Some days we do have a girls day or spend it with the guys too, but it's mostly about the couples.

"I have to be ready by 8, which is in an hour. Wear something warm but still elegant."

"This is so exciting!" Christina squeals while blow-drying my hair, I sit there and think of all the possibilities tonight. Tobias spent the rest of Christmas with me yesterday at our place, and today I told him that I would spend the night with him. I'm sure we were going to his place tonight anyways, he hasn't been staying with me at my place and I haven't been there with him, so tonight will be my first night with him in a while, "I get to doll you up like my personal barbie doll, and help you get laid tonight!"

I roll my eyes at her, leave it to Christina to talk about sex. She's never satisfied with girl talk and gossip, she always slithers that in and doesn't mind talking for hours and hours about it, "Christina, I'm completely capable of getting myself laid and I'm not your barbie doll, don't go heavy with the makeup." Christina sighs and gets to work on my face, since I'm going for a more natural look, it doesn't take long to get my hair and makeup done. My hair is curled and in a half up half down ponytail, my lips are coated with a deep burgundy, matte, lipstick. My lashes are brushed with mascara and my eyes are lined with black. I have my gold nose ring in and I feel confident.

Christina puts me in my new pair of Calvin Klein and I put on a gray, sweater-dress, with gray knee high boots with matching gray socks. Just as I sprayed myself with perfume and put my light gray, wool, jacket over my shoulders the doorbell rings. I give Christina a smile and she helps me down the steps, she gives me my hand purse and phone, I give her a hug and thank her before I am opening the door to see my boyfriend. He is in all black; black jeans, a black t-shirt, and a black blazer. He looks amazing, even in all the same color, "Have fun guys! Now get out there!" Christina snaps our gazes away from each other and slaps my butt, Tobias chuckles and I glare at her.

"That's my job." Tobias says and Christina squawks and laughs, the two laugh at the un-funny joke and I roll my eyes playfully while containing my laughter. She shuts the door and Tobias grabs my hand.
