[Tobias]

It's been a week since Tris and I went to the apartments and then went to The Wormhole, it's the week of Christmas and the week I move in to them. I have all of my things packed, and ready to move in. Zeke and the boys helped me get my things from the storage lot by Marcus' house. It had my old things that I didn't need to take to Michigan, like my bed, dresser, desk, and a few other things. The only things I need or things I can get when I get a better job; couch, coffee table, plates, and a dining room table with chairs.

I'm excited to have my first place, and Tris is going to spend the first night with me. I have three more weeks until I return back to school, so I have plenty of time to spend with my girlfriend. I step back and look around the vacant apartment. The living room is pretty big with dark mahogany wooden floors, to the rear is a large window from the floor to the ceiling that shows a beautiful skyline of Chicago―I'm going to have to find curtains soon to block away the height of the room, it's suffocating every time I look at it. I imagine that there is no barrier there and the closer I get to it, I will fall. But, I focus on the buildings and don't look down. To the right, through a opening, is the kitchen. The kitchen has an granite island, with matching counters. There is a stainless steel, double door, fridge that came with the apartment. The wooden floors continue to the kitchen and a light coffee color coats the walls. There is an open dining room that doesn't have anything in there except for a few windows and a door that leads to the living room with the creme colored walls.

Upstairs is my bedroom, the walls are light charcoal grey, and the floors cherry wood. My large bed is pushed to the wall and my dresser in the corner. Through the door is the bathroom, a large glass shower is in the corner with a stone, marble, wall, and a garden tub is in the other corner. It's another small room that is vacant, but other than that there is nothing else.

I love it, and I feel independent for once.

I run to the door and open it, Tris stands on the other side with a large bag and she sits it down then she launches herself into my arms and presses a kiss to my lips, "I'm so proud of you," She kisses me on the mouth again and I wrap my arms around her, "You have your first apartment!" I grab her thighs and wrap her legs around my waist, I shut the door behind her and fit my mouth to her's once more. She kisses me with so much passion and love that makes my knees weak, this kiss reminds me that I am fortunate for her.

Before I can deepen the kiss, she gets off of me and walks around the apartment making me groan in protest. Tris is finally off her dreaded period and has not once made love to me, I'm highly upset.

"Tobias, this really nice." Tris gleams as she leaves the kitchen and goes to the bathroom and gaps, she walks back out and clutches my hand to take us upstairs, "It's really beautiful!" She looks out my large bedroom window at the skyline, the very pale sunlight reflecting off the gray clouds shining through them.

We both go back down stairs and she bends down to pick up something and she hands me a big bag, I eye her skeptically before opening the bag. First there is a picture of Tris and I that I've never seen before, it looks like we first started dating and we we're out with our friends at the Pit, we're laughing and it doesn't look like we know we're being caught on camera. The frame says; Together, forever and always—with a heart at the end.

Then there are a couple of movies on Blu-Ray in there, house necessities like soap, wash cloths, plates, and towels. There are boxes of cereal and a carton of milk, and lastly some new cups with spoons, forks, and knives. Even a pot and pan to start off with.

I absolutely love this girl, she went out her way and got me household items and a beautiful, heartfelt, first picture of my apartment, "You always spoil me, and treat me good. So, I got you a few things for your first apartment. That picture was one from Christina, she took it off guard so I decided to use it. And, you know, a few things go get started with. I know it might be a while until you get your cable cut back on since you're not going to be here a lot, so I got movies you can watch on your laptop and DVD player—" I cut her off before smashing my mouth against hers, we both smile as I lift her up again for her to put her legs around my waist.

"Let's go make some new memories with this place." She squeals and giggles as I run up the steps.

"Is your mother expecting you?" I question, kissing Tris on the cheek. We just finished up placing a few things up around the apartment and she went downstairs to get her bag, telling me that she will the first person who will spend the night with me, "I don't want her worrying about you―"

Tris cuts me off with a roll of her eyes, "I'm about to turn 20, I can handle myself. And yes, she know's I'm with you. She told me to tell you that she wants to visit you and see how you're living," Tris says as we both exit out of the kitchen, going back upstairs to my bedroom, "What do you want to do for dinner?"

"We could order pizza?" I question.

"Yes," Tris eyes lighten up and I chuckle at her, "I hope they deliver here because I'm too lazy to go outside and get some food, are there any pizza places you know of around here yet?"

"I saw a domino's this morning," I tell Tris as I up the pizzeria website up on my laptop, I like living in The Loop because there is so much to do and I like the fast pace around here, even though I'm close to the trains, it's about me being close to where I need to get to. Tris and I decide to get a buffalo chicken and pacific veggie―Tris likes that one, I don't really care for it, but I'll eat it. They deliver to our place, even come up to the door, so I don't have to go downstairs and get it.

Tris cuddles up to my chest as we watch Cutthroat Kitchen on Netflix. I don't want to pay for cable when I'm not going to be here, I might invest in getting cable when I'm finished and permanently living back here in Chicago because it can be a waste of time and money. But, I can also watch live television on my computer from the cable company, and Tris can be on my plan.

"Time is flying by so quick," Tris tells me as we're eating, "Soon, this semester will be over and you will be down here for a while until you go back, we'll both be working and Susan would probably have the baby by then." I can't help but to notice how mournful she's talking right now, she can barely make eye contact with me.

"Are you okay?" Hopefully this will give her the opportunity on why she's been so dispirited these pass couple of days, I couldn't help but to notice how sad she would get often and be in her thoughts―of course not letting me in to help her. I hate seeing her sad, and now that I don't get to see her winsome face everyday like I used to, I try to make her happy to make memories when I go back to Michigan.

There is a silence in between us, she finally takes a deep breath and wipes her hands on the napkin, "Tobias, I don't want to lose you," My eyebrows knit together in perplexity as her watery eyes meet mine, "I know it may seem crazy but, every time I think of you leaving I see you being around Lauren. I don't even know her and she feels like a threat, I can't be there to make you happy or take your mind off of things. So, she will replace me, and I don't want that to happen." She sighs looks down at her lap as tears fall, I stand on my feet and pull her close to my body, rubbing her back in a calming manner.

"Tris, you aren't going to loose me. I promise, I've done some horrible things in the past to you. But, I don't want you to keep that reminder in your beautiful head and think that the history is going to repeat itself, it's not and I don't want it to happen either. I keep you in my mind every second of the day," Tris looks up at me and gives me a smile, I wipe away the traitor tears from her face and I kiss her nose, "I tell everyone about you, you're something to brag about. I don't like Lauren and I want you to feel comfortable with me when I go back to school that you know I'm not enticed to like her. You're the only one I want. Okay?" Tris nods her head at me and presses her lips against mines, and I savor this kiss―just like all of them, because I don't know if this will be the last one.
