Didnt Work Out

The goodbye exchange with Avi was...hard. Scott hadn't remembered crying so hard in his life. He was the one person that was really there for him through his hard time. He had even got Avi to cry, even though he tried to hold it back.

Leaving Avi was the hardest thing about going to Los Angeles. Not the money issues, not getting a job, but leaving the person that was practically the reason Scott was going in the first place.

The plane was landing in a few minutes, so Scott sent out a text to Avi.

Scott: Planes about to land... I'm so nervous.

Avi: Don't be nervous. Confident actions!

Scott: You're right.

Scott felt the sudden jump of the plan when it finally landed, excited about his new surroundings. Los Angeles had to be so different from such a small place like Arlington.

Lots of new people, and different types of them as well. In Arlington, everyone was kind of the same in a way. There wasn't enough people to be out of the ordinary.

Scott went to luggage belt, quickly spotting his bags. He grabs them and gets a cart, four suitcases was a bit too much to hold.

He called an uber after getting everything in the airport. The uber came shortly and started on the way to the apartment.

Scott was beyond nervous. He hadn't thought this through. He had to get up early, so he didn't take time to make himself look amazing for Mitch. He also didn't know how to surprise them both in the apartment without an actual key to get in.

He quickly changes locations, telling the uber driver to take him to a hotel. He needed to think, he couldn't just show up like this. He needed to get ready and think things through, because his plan was not seeming to work out.

It took almost a half an hour to get to the hotel. Scott was frustrated and felt extremely stupid. Had he really not taken the time to think about what could go wrong? He couldn't even get in! He runs a hand through his hair and opens the hotel room he had just checked in to.

It wasn't nice, he hadn't had enough money for something fancy. All he needed it for was to get ready, do his hair and change his clothes. Then he had to make a different plan, because his didn't work.

But before anything, Scott needed a nap.

  ---------------------

His hair was rough. It was excessively greasy and oily, so a shower was definitely needed.

After the shower, he needed to blow dry it and style it. Maybe it would naturally look good today, and he'd only have to touch it up a little. He picks out an outfit before his shower.

His new plan seemed to be a good one now. Send one more gift, a note saying: meet me at the closest park at 8:00, Mitch?

He definitely didn't want Kirstie showing up, so the last note would be written towards Mitch. It was almost 5:00, so Scott decided to go grab some chocolates and maybe some flowers before getting ready. He throws on some clean clothes and heads out.

---------------------

Mitch showed the note to Kirstie. She was happy for him, even if Mitch was slightly wary.

"Mitchy, I'm heading to the store. Want to come with?" He hears. Mitch nods, using a small amount of sign language to signal that he needed to get ready.

He went to his bathroom and started on his hair, combing through the thin layer of blonde and pushing it to one side of his head. He applied a nice layer of foundation under his eyes and where it looked like it was needed on his face.

When he was satisfied with how his face looked, he quickly put on an oversized hoodie from Vetements and a pair of black skinny jeans.

Mitch walks out and sees Kirstie on the phone, most likely talking to Jeremy. Mitch waits for their conversation to be finished, but in the mean time, he texts Zip back. He didn't get to it earlier.

Zip: Hey, Mitchy.

Mitch: Hey! What's up?

Zip: Nothing, but wondering if we could plan something soon? Miss ya.

Mitch: Of course! When are you free?

Zip: Next weekend most likely.

Mitch: Great, you wanna come down here? I could go up there if needed.

Zip: It's okay. I like your place anyway.

Mitch: Awesome! See you then, Zippy

Zip: Right back at you, Mitchy.

Kirstie hangs up her phone and tosses it onto the counter, groaning.

"What?" Mitch asks in curiosity.

"Jeremy can be such an asshole!" Mitch frowns. He didn't really like Jeremy ever since the situation with Avi, Mitch always that Kirstie and Avi would stay together for a long time. "He always cancels everything! And when I finally confront him about it, he freaks out on me! Like, I'm the one trying to see you!"

"He is a a-ass." Kirstie smiles.

"Yeah. He really is. We should get going, I need groceries bad." Mitch nods and grabs her hand. She stops him first, pulling him back and hugging him. He hugs her back, a little confused but decided on not questioning it.

"I love you, Mitch."

"L-luh you too." Mitch says back. She pecks his cheek and walks out of the door.

They hop into the car and head to the store, Mitch's mind set on getting chocolates. He had been craving them, which was rare for him to be craving anything.

When they reach the store, Kirstie starts her shopping.  She was being productive and was getting things for the apartment, but Mitch just wanted chocolate. He headed straight to the candy aisle, searching through bags of chocolates and trying to decide which kind he was in the mood for.

Mitch finally found a thing of chocolate and went to search for Kirstie. He walked down and turned into another aisle. He passes things of toilet paper and paper towels, then turns to spot something that was definitely not Kirstie.

"Superman?"
