My apology #4972

Plans weren't really Scott's thing. Every time he tried to so something nice or meaningful, it would somehow backfire. Kind of like his last plan, when he tried to surprise Mitch with his arrival. He was definitely surprised!

Mitch was upset when he saw Scott, not happy. He was confused on why Scott hadn't told him he was there, or why he was grocery shopping instead of seeing him. He was also confused on why Scott had lied about when he was coming.

So Mitch walked away. And Scott didn't follow because things happen for a reason, and that was destined to occur.

Scott didn't buy the flowers or the chocolates for Mitch. He was so upset with himself, on why he didn't think through his plan once again. It didn't even cross his mind that he was in the same city as Mitch, and that he could see him literally anywhere.

Scott wanted to talk to Mitch about it, but what could he say? Scott had been lying to him and Kirstie for weeks now, there was no way Mitch wouldn't be mad.

---------------------

He didn't know what to do. Scott was here, but didn't want him knowing. He completely ignored Mitch.

Mitch walks up to the park, hoping that the mystery boy would somehow be so amazing that he could forget all about Scott. It was almost eight, and Mitch wondered the park to find any trace of this boy.

But what he found wasn't a mystery boy, because this boy was really no mystery at all. It was a blonde with blue eyes, holding a giant poster in the shape of a heart that said: forgive me, mr. grassi?

Mitch didn't know how to react. Scott was the one sending the gifts with notes? Was that why he was here early? Mitch suddenly felt bad for not allowing Scott to explain.

The blonde gets up and walks towards Mitch. He grabs both of his hands, shocked when Mitch didn't pull away.

"So I had this amazing plan. I started it back in Arlington. I was sending the gifts and the notes. But you see, my plan didn't go as planned. I hadn't thought it through, so when my plane landed, I had to go to a hotel because I looked awful and didn't even have a key to surprise you in the apartment. So I made a new plan, to send another gift and meet you here. But I stupidly went to the store to get flowers and chocolates for you first, not aware that you could've been there. Plans aren't really my thing. They've really gone horrible since the beginning." Mitch chuckles, continuing to listen to Scott's story. "I almost didn't even show up here, but you would've been stood up by someone that you didn't even know. I didn't want to make your day any worse. I'm sorry. I should've been more careful instead of making you think I wasn't telling you that I was here. I was just a mess, and I fuck up every plan I've made." Scott finishes, looking down.

Mitch raises his hand and smacks him right across the face.

"I deserved that." Scott says.

"Yes." Mitch says, laughing but hugging him. Scott releases his tension when he feels Mitch in his arms again. It had been almost five months without each other, and the feeling felt so amazing.

He forget how small Mitch was, and how his body practically surrounded his smaller frame. He forget how good of a hugger Mitch was, and how he always held the hugs for a long time.

"I missed you so much, Mitch. I'm so sorry that I cut you off. And I'm sorry that I didn't go through with the plan of going to Los Angeles after high school. And I'm sorry that I fucked up all of my plans. I'm so sorry." Mitch just hugs him even tighter, not wanting to apologize, although he needed too.

It wasn't the right time. He wouldn't lose Scott right when he got him back. But Scott deserved to know that Mitch had kissed someone else. Mitch just hoped that Scott wouldn't mind and would get over it, although he highly doubted it.

"Let's go home." Scott says.

---------------------

Scott didn't know how nice the apartment was. He was planning on staying the night and then moving his things in tomorrow.

Mitch grabs Scott's arm and pulls him into his room, dreading the upcoming talk but knew it needed to happen.

They both sit on the edge of the bed. Scott leans over, wanting a quick feeling of Mitch's lips on his, but Mitch pushes him back. Scott looked confused and hurt.

Not until I tell you what I'm about to tell you. I have a feeling you won't want to kiss me after it.

"W-what do you mean, Mitch? What happened?" Scott asks, frantically.

After my graduation, I went to that grad party right?

"Yes..."

And it was right after we broke up and you told me you were staying in Arlington for awhile. I was hurt and acted really stupid.

"Mitch, please don't tell me..."

This guy named Zach saw me alone at the party and started talking to me, and next thing I knew we were in some bathroo-

Scott stopped his pencil from moving anymore. He shakes his head.

"Does Kirstie know?" Mitch nods. "She lied to me too."

"W-what?"

"She asked me if I had sex or had done anything with any boy. I said no, because I couldn't stop thinking about you. She said she wouldn't of been shocked if I had, but then told me that you hadn't either. Yo-you both lied to me."

Scott...

"I should go."

No! Please, let me finish. We didn't have sex!

"It doesn't matter! I didn't even have a thought of different guy. The only other guy I thought about was Alex, and it was because I was excited for the day he moved to Arizona and left!" Mitch couldn't keep his tears back. "Why? Why didn't you tell me this when I was apologizing for everything? Everything I did doesn't even add up to how hurt I feel right now. I feel...I feel so betrayed." He says in defeat.

I'm so sorry. It meant nothing. I promise.

"Were you drunk?"

"No."

"I have to go." Scott grabs his belongings and heads for the door, pushing away from Mitch's grip when he tried to hold him back.

He stops at the door, turning around to say one more thing..."Please start eating more."

He shuts the door and heads out. That was yet another plan that didn't go right, and he didn't know why he thought it would.

Because when Scott made plans, they never ended good.
