For the people wondering: THINGS DO GET BETTER JUST GIVE ME TIME.
Day 9:
I can't control myself, my love. -S
"Manny Bush." A police man says abruptly. Scott looks up, but makes sure to keep his hoodie past his wrists, hiding the big pad of gauze and medical tape wrapped around cuts that he regrets. "He already has a criminal record and has been arrested, not to mention that he has been put into a mental institution and is diagnosed as insane. He has been charged for theft, and attempted murder." Scott nods. "This is him?" They show Scott a picture of a man, and of course, it was exactly the same man that had done this.
"Can't they just check the video cameras at their apartment? I mean, you can see him shoot the police man, can't you?" Scott proposes.
"Maybe we don't bring up Lyell right now." Scott nods, forgetting that this man wasn't just a random person, but a friend of most of the people at the police station. "And the security cameras has been cut earlier that day for unknown reasons. Even the apartment complex doesn't know."
"I'm sorry." Scott says, looking down.
"I understand, how are you? Are you okay?" Scott wanted to look the man in the eye and say 'no', because he really wasn't. But he couldn't tell anyone of this, because no one needed to be worried about him right now.
"I've been better." The doors of the police station open, revealing two people, one crying and one fuming.
"What the fuck happened, Scott? I want to know every single little detail!" The man says, pointing at him and getting in his face. The lady next to him wipes her tears and pulls him back.
"Mike, stop, this has to be hard on him too." And that's when Scott can finally make out the faces. He didn't even think about Mitch's parents. They loved him so much and now he was gone. Scott leans forwards and hugs Nel.
"I don't know much, I'm sorry." Scott says. "But I can tell you what I know." Scott looks over at the police man who excuses himself to allow them to talk. Mike and Nel take a seat across from Scott.
"I haven't seen my son for months, and this happens? I fucking hate the world." Mike snaps.
"A man came up to me asking for Mitch, I tried to lie and say I didn't even know one, but apparently they knew who I was and my relationship with him. After refusing to tell him where Mitch lived, he grabbed my phone and ran. And I lost him and he texted Mitch on my phone, getting the address to his apartment." Scott wipes away his tears. "And when he got their, he shot a cop trying to help Mitch and then left. Kirstie and Mitch haven't been seen since."
"And do you know the man?" Scott shakes his head.
"I don't, but he has been identified. His name is Manny Bush."
"B-bush?" Nel stutters, Scott nods. She looks over to Mike, who takes her in his arms.
"Scott, Travis's last name was Bush." Mike says. "Did this man have blonde hair?" Scott nods. "Green eyes?" Scott nods again. "Go get a police officer."
Scott runs into the main room, tapping the same man that was helping earlier, asking him too come back. He quickly agrees and follows Scott back to where they were earlier.
He takes a seat, waiting as Mike tries to figure out his words. He looked to be in pure shock. Mike peeks over at the officers name tag, it reading: John.
"John, a man named Travis Bush was my sons, Mitch's, ex-boyfriend. He was very abusive and bad for him, and then eventually committed suicide. The man seems to have similar features and the same last name, and that really concerns me. If he is anything like Travis, then I know he is very persuasive, and knows how to do pretty horrific things."
"Thank you, Mr. Grassi, that helps us a lot, giving us a good reasoning why he would've been after Mitch." John says, looking over to Scott. "It's getting late, son, maybe you should head home and get some sleep. You could use it." Scott nods, before getting up and walking for the exit.
"Wait!" He hears, turning to face Nel. She hugs him, holding his head close to her. "I hope you're the man Mitch marries. I love you. Thank you for everything you do for him." Scott nods. "And please stop going near razors." She whispers the last part, Scott looking down to his wrist to see a small part of his sleeve was raised and cuts were clearly visible. Nel grabs her phone, handing it to Scott to put his number in. "I'm going to text you. You save my number and if you need to talk, don't hesitate to call me, okay?" Scott nods.
"Thank you so much."
"No, Scott, thank you. You are an amazing man with a very kind heart. You do amazing things for my boy." He nods. "Now go home and get some sleep."
Scott finally leaves the building, walking straight to his car and heading for home, not sure if he was excited or not.
Because once he got there, he was alone, and Scott couldn't control himself when he was home alone, or anywhere as a matter a fact.
Like now, nothing could keep him from "accidentally" running into another car, or smashing into a traffic pole. No one could tell him not to, convince him to be strong and that everything would be okay.
So he just told himself that it wouldn't be okay.
All it took was one jerk of the steering wheel, and he could picture it in his mind. He'd be gone, in a better place. Maybe even seeing Mitch, because who knew where he was. He'd be with his brother, the one person who was there for him more than anyone in his life. He'd get to tell him how much he missed him and never stopped thinking about him.
And then it happened, before Scott could even process it. The car was a wreck, a big truck in the side of it, and Scott was left unconscious, and no one knew if he was breathing or not. But one thing is...
He didn't do it on purpose.
