I just finished watching "Straight Outta Oz" by Todrick Hall, and let me say, it has me in tears. If you haven't watched it, you should. It's so amazing.

"The worst thing that can happen to a man in this world is homosexuality." Kevin felt like vomiting. "Not only is it a sin, but a wrong way of life that affects not only the homosexual, but the people around them. Do yourself a favor and rid them in your life."

Kevin takes a look around. What was this new church? He knew that many religious people didn't believe in homosexuals, but never had he been in a sermon like this.

He gets up from his seat, turning to exit the building before being stopped.

"Sir, we ask that everyone stays seated during the sermon." A man says.

"I'm leaving." Kevin snaps.

"And why is that?" Kevin scoffs at the man, he felt like hurting him.

"How can you guys preach that? Homosexuals are exactly the same as us!" Kevin yells. He felt the room go silent and stares being moved to him.

"Sir, homosexuality isn't the right way to go. Are you one yourself, we can surely help rid you of it."

"No! I'm not! But I have very close friends who are, and they're the best people I've ever met! They are not a sin, and people who believe that they are living a wrong life are the ones that are going to hell."

"I'm going to have to ask you step out of the building, Mr. Olusola."

"You all disgust me. Everyone is a little gay. Whether you believe it or not." Kevin yells before stomping out of the building.

Kevin wanted to cry, to throw up. It made him sick of how people viewed homosexuality. And it made him even more sick on how they could share those beliefs throughout a room full of people.

"Kevin!" He hears from behind him. Turning around, he sees a swarm of people running out of the church. There was atleast 200 people inside, it was a GIANT church. But almost half the church was leaving. "That was amazing what you did in there. I didn't know how much more I could take listening to that arrogant asshole." A short girl with brown hair and dark skin says.

"Why is everyone leaving?"

"Because they agree with you and think it is ridiculous how you were treated for sharing your beliefs just like the pastor was." Kevin smiles, holding out his hand.

"I'm Kevin, as you already know." Kevin says. The girls shakes his hand.

"Alyssa." She says. "I wish I had that type of bravery. I'd never be able to say all of that in front of all of those people."

"I didn't mean for everyone to hear it. Its just, two of my best friends are so perfect for each other and are both gay, and I support them so much. I hate those type of people."

"So do I. My dad is gay, my mom divorced him and forced me into her custody. I hated her because she was a big homophobe, so then I moved back in with my dad and his new boyfriend recently." She says. "My mom convinced me to go to church a lot, but I have a feeling I'm not going to be going so much anymore." She chuckles. Kevin couldn't help but notice how gorgeous her smile was and how nice her laugh sounded. This was the type of person Kevin had been waiting to meet, someone like him.

"How old are you, Alyssa?"

"I'm eighteen, you?"

"Nineteen."

"Are you attending college or...?"

"I go to Yale."

"Wow. You're a smart one, huh?"

"You could say that. What about you?"

"Albertus Magnus College. Pretty close to Yale."

"Yeah, I pass it on my way to school everyday."

"How is Yale? Hard?"

"Easier than you'd imagine. It's just, everyone there is really full of themselves and think they're the smartest kid there."

"And people can't think that, because your obviously the smartest one."

"Of course!" Kevin jokes, causing Alyssa to laugh. "Do you want to meet up for coffee sometime before school? There is a Starbucks close."

"I'd love too. What day?"

"I'm free anytime before school, whenever you want to see me."

"Then as soon as possible." She smiles. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow morning." She struts away, her hips swaying from side to side.

Kevin was definitely attracted to this girl, and he loved how she approached him first. She was confident and always smiling, which made him smile.

"So tell me about your self, Kevvo." Alyssa says and takes a big gulp from her coffee.

"I moved here from Arlington, Texas. I did high school there. I had the most amazing friends there, Kirstie, Avi, Esther, Scott, and Mitch. Scott and Mitch are the gay ones."

"The ones that are perfect for each other?" Kevin chuckles.

"Those are the ones. Now tell me a little about you."

"I've lived in Connecticut forever. My friends go to my school though, I'll introduce you to them eventually. Their names are Callie, Sam, and Trevor. Their sweeties."

"It'll be nice to meet some new people."

"So what about your family? They nice?"

"They're amazing. I'm an only child and my parents are still together, but they still are in Arlington."

"That's good."

"You told me about yours yesterday, but I was little interested about your dad and his boyfriend. How are they?"

"They're amazing. I love them both equally. My dads boyfriends name is James, but he is practically just another father figure. They've been together for five years, but I just got reunited with them a year ago."

"I'm glad that you're happy with them."

"Me too. My mom was a pain in the ass." She chuckles. Kevin notices the small little chain in her neck, it was a locket.

"Is there a picture in the locket?" Kevin asks, pointing at it.

"Oh, yeah. It's my brother." She says, opening it and leaning forward to let Kevin see. "He died a couple years ago from cancer. He was 14." The picture was of a boy with dark brown hair. He had a wide, goofy grin that could make anyone smile.

"I'm so sorry." She smiles at him.

"It's okay. I only think of the good things about him, which is like everything. He was an amazing kid. So funny and positive."

"He gets it from you." She looks at Kevin for a moment.

"Thank you. That was sweet."

"It's also true."

Just realized that I wrote 15 chapters without Kevvy! I had to bring him back for a chapter or two :).
