Scott was so fed up with himself that he didn't even think that Mitch could've done something wrong. He knew he couldn't really be mad, because they weren't dating when it happened, but he thought that Mitch would have enough self control to wait a little. And to be honest, Mitch was the one who wanted to wait. If Mitch didn't break up, then they would've been fine. They would've continued long distance and maybe prevented the whole thing.

Scott just didn't know how Mitch kept it from him for so long. He also didn't know how Kirstie could've kept it from him. He understood that she was Mitch's best friend, but it didn't mean that Scott didn't deserve to know the truth. It had been kept hidden from him, and led him to believe that they'd been perfectly fine.

A knock sounds from his hotel room door. He was slightly confused, the only person that could be here had to of worked at the hotel, no one else knew where Scott was.

He opens the door, seeing a short blonde. He sighs before opening the door all the way.

"Can we talk?" She asks. Scott nods and allows her into the hotel room.

"How did you find me?"

"Don't worry about it. I'm sorry about everything, but we need to talk, Scott." Scott nods and sits on the couch, Kirstie shortly joining. "You have to let Mitch explain."

"Explain what? That he is the reason for all of this? It is his fault, not mine." Scott snaps.

"But you were the one who stayed in Arlington. He was just hurt."

"Really? He was hurt? I was pretty hurt at the fact that he broke up with me, but I didn't go make out with another guy." Kirstie couldn't find her words. "He did this to himself. If he didn't break up with me, it could've stopped everything."

"He didn't even break up, he just said you were going on a break."

"Oh, so a break that allows him to kiss other guys? Wish I was informed of that part so I could go make out with Alex, you know?" Kirstie's eyes bug out, and Scott regrets saying it. "I didn't mean that."

"Clearly you don't mean a lot of things."

"What?"

"You must not mean it when you say you love Mitch, because if you did, you'd let him explain."

"He already explained everything! Please tell me what else he needs to say!"

"I have no idea, Scott! You're right, this is his problem! But he can't fix it himself! Haven't you realized that? He is incapable of doing it on his own, and he doesn't let me help him." Scott shakes his head. "All I know is that he wasn't finished talking to you when you left. He still had more to say."

"I get that you want to do this for him, but what about me? He wants too, but what if I don't."

"Then I guess I can't make you." Kirstie says in defeat. "But I can encourage you too. Because I can't make people do things. They do it themselves. You can encourage them to do it." Scott looks up to her, and she was quoting what Scott had said over a phone call. And she was right. Because she couldn't make him do anything, but she could encourage him to do what's right, and that was talking to Mitch.

"I'll talk to him."

---------------------

It was awkward when Scott came back to the apartment. Mitch didn't know he was coming, and when Scott saw how horrible it made him feel, he felt bad himself.

Mitch didn't even want to see him yet, not until he looked semi presentable. He was a mess of tears and destroyed hair.

He hadn't showered since Scott left, which was three days ago.

Scott opens his door, and without any hesitation, he sits next to him. Mitch pushes himself away, trying to cover the mess he was. He thought he looked absolutely awful.

Scott scoots closer and takes his hands away from his face, placing his own hands on either side of his face.

"Stop hiding yourself. You're gorgeous." Scott whispers. Mitch couldn't find himself to look into Scott's eyes.

"I'm s-so so...rry." Scott nods, kissing his cheek.

"I know. I am too. Please finish explaining, I didn't let you. I was an asshole for that." Mitch immediately pulls his phone out, showing old text messages between him and a guy named Zach, which Scott guessed was the guy he kissed.

Mitch: Random question: did you send me flowers by any chance?

Zach: No, although I wish I had. Maybe it'd get you to talk to me more.

Mitch: Okay. Thank you. I should get going.

Zach: Why do you always make an excuse to not talk to me. I thought you liked me?

Mitch: I'm sorry about the party, I was going through some boyfriend issues....

Zach: So you lied to me and said you were single.

Mitch: No! I was single, but I was just out of a relationship.

Zach: Cut the bullshit, Mitch. You were using me because of "boyfriend" issues. I'm not going to be your distraction.

Mitch: I'm sorry. I think I like you. It's just, I like someone else too.

Zach: Well, I know I like you. So you tell me who you like more.

Mitch: I like you. You are so sweet and so accepting of me. But I just like you. I love someone else. I hope you understand and I'm really sorry.

Zach: Yeah... Sorry for getting in the way.

Mitch: You weren't in the way.

Zach: Tell him he's a lucky guy. He's got himself a keeper.

Scott didn't know what to say, so he just looks at Mitch before hugging him. He had never told Scott he loved him before, and this wasn't how Scott expected him too. He told another guy first, just to make sure he wouldn't get the wrong idea.

"You love me?" Scott asks. Mitch nods, keeping his head down. Scott lifts his chin up with a finger, placing his lips onto Mitch's. He pulls Mitch onto his lap, enjoying the amazing feeling of their lips together again, a feeling he had missed for five months. "I love you too." Scott whispers, causing Mitch to smile into the kiss. "More than anything in the world."

Mitch could feel himself melt. When he kissed Scott, nothing else mattered. He couldn't think straight, and couldn't focus on anything but the amazing boy in front of him. His hands grab Scott's cheek, pulling him as close as possible.

Scott disconnects their lips, pecking him one more time. "I don't want to go too far." Scott says and Mitch nods. So instead of kissing, Mitch wraps his arms around his neck and sits in his embrace, an embrace that had meant the world.
