Unexpected love

Chapter Fourty Nine: Forgotten, Almost

Emma's POV
Five months later

Five months have passed and nothing has changed. Me and Killian's love is just as strong as ever before, Henry and Liam have finished school for summer and are away to summer camp, Lily moved over to New York after getting an amazing job as a lawyer, and I was finishing my maternity leave.

As Henry and Liam were away for a full month and left a week ago, the house was always quite besides Sophie's shrieks in the morning. Sophie was growing so quickly which moved me and Killian. We have finally completed the nursery fully and Sophie was able to sleep in her room now.

It's the morning of July 18th and I had woken up for the first time in ages to my alarm going off at 7am. I heard Killian groan and he wrapped his arms around me.

"Good morning love."

"Morning."

"First day back at work today."

"Don't remind me."

"Come on love. Let's go."

He kissed my forehead as we both sat up and made the bed. I peaked into Sophie's nursery to find her swinging her arms in the air and making soft sounds.

"Hello little miss! Good morning."

She giggled as I lifted her out of her crib and I lay her down into the changing table and changed her diaper. I picked her back up and brought her downstairs. Killian had started making breakfast so I placed Sophie into her highchair. I grabbed a baby food pouch out of the fridge and put it into a bowl for Sophie.

Watching Sophie eat solids was hilarious. She always made a mess which was why we never changed her out of her pyjamas before breakfast. Me and Killian sat down beside her and ate our breakfast. Killian left a short while after to get a shower for work. I cleaned up and then cleaned Sophie.

I changed Sophie into a summer dress and brushed her little tuff of brown hair. When I went back downstairs Killian was sorting out his files.

"Look at my beautiful baby girl. Suzy in the summer eh."

"You okay to watch her until I go get ready?"

"Of course love."

"Mama will be right back."

I kissed Sophie's head and ran upstairs. I had a quick shower and changed into what I used to wear before maternity - Jeans and a loose white top. I put my rings back on and then a bracelet Killian bought me for our first anniversary. I let my hair dry and applied natural makeup. I walked back downstairs and found Killian singing to Sophie.

I walked behind him quietly and leaned on his shoulder. He continued to sing as he smiled at me and then Sophie. But he soon finished off after realising what time it was.

"I loved that."

"So did Sophie. I've got to go love. Our new Ceo is starting today."

"Good luck with that. Have a good day."

"You too love."

We kissed and then he lifted his phone, keys and his files. I was sort of sad when he left because I started to realise that I would have to leave Sophie and that was the most frightening thing about today.
