Chapter Ten: Another torn past

Emma's POV

A brother? I didn't think he lived with anyone! I guess he hadn't revealed much about himself as I had to him. I was determined to find out more about him, without hurting his feelings. "Um Henry why don't you go to the game room with Liam and me and your mom will sit in the living room." Killian says to Henry. He nods and walks up the stairs with a very smiley, happy Liam. "He's not used to people coming round here. The quiet type I guess." Killian says grabbing my hand and taking me to the living room. "I guess he's the opposite of you." I said laughing.

We sit down on the curved grey sofas and I smile at Killian. "What is it love?" He says smiling back. "You know so much about my past, what about yours?" I asked slowly and cautiously. I hope I didn't seem too determined. "Your right love. I haven't really told you much about me." He replied. He sat up and looked at me. "Its okay, take all the time you need to open up to me." I smiled at him. He took a deep breath in and began.

Killian's POV

I didn't know how to start. So much had happened over the years. I just took a deep breath in and let it all come out.

"So I lived with my parents, here in this house. My parents were really successful music producers. They had me when they were very young so when I was 18 my mom fell pregnant with Liam. My mom was 36 and my dad was 37 when Liam was born. When Liam was 8 and I was 26 my parents got in a car accident and were in critical condition in hospital." My eyes began to water. Emma could see this and squeezed my hand and stared at me. "It was in best interest that we turned off their life support machines and let them go together." I began to cry. I forgot Emma was even there. It hurt every time, more than the last. Every time I explained to to someone it got harder and it hurt more.

"Killian.. I'm so sorry. If I had've known this I would have never of asked you about it." Emma says staring at me. "Then the next thing I know Liam gets put into care and I'm in court trying to get him back... Because he's all I had left." I said crying hardly. "Killian, you don't have to tell me anymore." She said as her eyes began to water. "But you told me everything about you. Its my turn. Plus I have lots more to tell." I explained to her.

"After 4 months of going back and fourth to court and getting dead end after dead end. I thought I'd lost him for good. When I turned 27 I was the apparent legal age to become his permanent guardian until he was 18 when he could decide what he wants to do. On his 9th birthday I was legally allowed to bring him home and become the big brother he deserved. My parents business partner opened up J.P studios to honor them. I'm working towards becoming the CEO and assistant manager. I want to finish off what they started. Find talent and give it to people who deserve it. Now here I am age 32 and Liam's 13 coming 14 and I'm happy. With you,Henry and Liam I can finally find a future and live a life that I truly need." I finished. Emma was in tears. She just hugged me. Sobbing into my shoulder as I played with her blonde curly hair.

"I love you Killian, never forget that." Emma said into my shoulder. "And I love you too Emma." I said back to her. She sat up and I wiped her tears away. "How about you both stay tonight? Liam can give Henry pajamas and I saw you buy new pajamas today in town? Its snowimg like crazy out there. Plus I need help with Christmas decorations! I have five days before Christmas day and I have zero decorations or lights up." I said laughing. "If you don't mind. It would help a lot. And I would love to decorate. Me and Henry have already decorated." She replied laughing.

I called Liam and Henry ro come downstairs and Liam had already given Henry a pair of pajamas. They seemed to get in so well already. I got all of the Christmas decorations down from the attic at the very top floor of the house. Our custom Christmas tree was delivered yesterday so it was already set up, just not decorated. We all began to decorate and Liam started to get to know Emma more and it was a good bonding time. We spent around 2 hours all together putting everything up then realised how late it was.

Henry slept in one of the many spare bedrooms in the house. I insisted Emma came in and slept with me in the master bedroom which was now mine. She fell fast asleep so I tucked her in and then walked around the house to make sure everything was off and then i too went to bed. I couldnt help but think about what i had told Emma. About my parents death amd the trouble i had to go through to keep Liam. Think about it all made me so sleepy and I just fell asleep.

| My schedule has changed again. There's a day between each update of my books. Getting lots of homework and course work as I've just started back school from being off for Halloween.
 
What do you think of Killian's back story? It had a lot of calculations for ages and differences but its all good.

Emma is 31, she had Henry in this book when she was 19. Henry is 12, but coming 13 in a few weeks which means Emma's birthday is soon too. Neal died when Henry was 4 so Emma was 23 and pregnant at the time. But she miscarried it shortly before it was due. Remember in this book I haven't given Emma biological parents and haven't named any foster or adoptive parents.

Killian is 32 and Liam is 13. Killian's parents were 18 when they had him, hence the fact i said they were young when Killian was born. They were 36 and 37 when Liam was born. They got in the car crash when they were 44 years old and died at that age too.
