Emma's POV
- two days later -
"I don't think I've been up this early before in my life."
"Stop complaining, do you want to catch these guys or not?"
"Of course I do, I just imagined having more sleep time."
"Well this is the pros and cons of being a police officer."
"I'm not a police officer."
"Today you are."
"Unfortunately."
We had been sitting in the car for about an hour just a few yards away from Jack and Helens hotel, waiting for them to leave and follow them to wherever they were planning on going. I hadn't gotten the chance to FaceTime Killian yet today as he was probably asleep considering it was early in the morning over here. David insisted we got up early, but I'm not a morning person at all.
"There they are."
I turned my head as Jack and Helen drove up beside us. We had to duck just to make sure they didn't see us.
"Right lets go."
David started the engine and we followed them through the streets of Belfast. I'm a pretty impatient person and it was so early in the morning that I just felt angry at everyone and everything.
"Woah woah."
"What?"
"They are getting out, duck!"
We quickly moved our heads down and waited for a few minutes. David peeked his head up a little to see if they were back or not. Their car was still there but they went somewhere.
"I'm going to follow them."
"No your not!"
"David! I'm a grown woman I can't do what I want."
"Not on my watch, I promised Killian I was bringing his wife back in one piece. So you're not going anywhere."
"Ugh!"
"Just be patient and wait a sec alright?"
"I don't want to be patient! I want to get the idiots in jail so I can go home and see my daughter! I've had enough of all this crap about us finding them! If we don't take action we won't catch them!"
"Emma! Calm down seriously, we will be home soon!"
"You've said that so many times and I can't help but not trust you! I'm sorry!"
"Just breathe."
I'd reached breaking point, I felt the tears emerge into my face and I held my head in my hands. All the hate I had was building up every hour and it had gotten so high that I couldn't take it down. I missed Killian and I missed my kids. The more I thought about them the further away they seemed.
After a few more minutes of waiting, Jack and Helen emerged from an alley way and got back into their car. We waited until they got a distance away from us to start following them again.
As we continued the drive, we started to recognise out whereabouts.
Unfortunately, we had to stop at a red light as Jack and Helen raced on ahead. We didn't see where they turned or where they were going.
The lights turned green and we began to search the streets and in the city centre. But we had no hope.
