Hala. Bakit?

"I'll try to contact her," prisinta ko. "Nung birthday ni Chris okay naman sya ah."

"Okay try her. If you hear anything, let me know," Babe said.

May kinalaman na naman kaya si Ron dito? Hay naku naman!

Nung birthday naman ni Chris okay si Chloe. Alam ko nung nag-Tagaytay sila, okay pa sila. Nag-post pa nga sila ng picture together looking so happy. Alam ko may party pa after nun si Chris with his friends. Kasama rin si Chloe dun.

I tried Chloe's number but the call was not connecting.

"Hayyy..."

Nakauwi na si Jake sa bahay for the day, pero ang sabi ni Chris, wala pa rin daw si Chloe. 'Di nya pa din daw alam kung nasaan.

Mag-gagabi na ah. San yun?

"Tuloy ang beach natin bukas ah kahit wala sina Chris at Chloe," yakap ni Babe sa'kin.

"Bukas na? Bukas agad? Ang bilis naman," sabi ko.

"Nagpaalam na 'ko sa mga tao sa office. Nag-delegate na 'ko ng tasks. We shouldn't wait lalo na kung para sa pag-aanak natin."

I smiled at his kindness. I kissed his cheek.

"Let me text Chris that the beach trip is tomorrow," Jake said.

He typed: Beach tayo bukas. Gagawa kami ng bata. If makasama kayo ni Chloe, great. Let me know para masundo namin kayo.

He received a text. It was from Chris: We want to. I'm positive makakasama kami. We need a break from work. I know she's going to come home to me tonight.

Napasinghap ako nang ipakita ni Jake ang text na yun ng kapatid nya. He's really hopeful about Chloe.

"Well, I hope she surfaces soon. Baka nag-iisip lang," I said.

"Si Ron na naman ba 'to? May alam ka ba?" asked Jake, with sternness in his voice.

"Wala 'no. Hindi na kami nag-uusap," sagot ko. "Baka nag-aaway yung dalawa," hula ko. "Babe, Chloe and Chris have a business together. Yun pa lang an' dami na nilang pwedeng pag-awayan."

Babe and I had dinner. Lagi syang may gustong simulang sabihin pero hindi nya itinutuloy. Gusto nya sigurong i-discuss si Ron with me but figured he really had nothing good to say. Lahat speculations nya lang at lahat, malamang sa malamang, hindi tama and only stemming from galit mula sa 'di mawalang guilt nya kay Ron.

Nangiti si Jake nang naka-receive sya ng text. Pinakita sa'kin ni Jake ang text ni Chris: She's back! We'll come with you guys tomorrow. We're going to go to her place to pick up stuff. Pick us up from there. Or carpool?

"Hay salamat," Jake sighed. You could really see relief in him. He sent him a reply and we went upstairs to our bedroom.

"You're tired," I noticed as we were climbing the stairs. Mabigat ang kamay nyang naka-akbay sa'kin.

"Oo. An' daming ginagawa sa office kasi. Buti talaga we can rest tomorrow," he said.

Buhay opisina. I really miss working.

I love being a housewife to Jake but I miss being challenged by issues, concerns and problems in the workplace. Mas nakakaramdam ako ng silbi, mas nagagamit ko ang utak ko sa ganun.

What if stressed pala ako dahil anxious ako about wanting to work? At dahil dun kaya hirap akong magka-baby?

Eh not working is no stress diba? Well, supposedly. Does that mean the same to me? Baka work for me is no stress?
