Chapter 50

"You guys are pregnant," Doctora said smiling. "I can confirm the PTs and the other tests. Jake and Aileen, congratulations! A baby is on the way!"

Oh my God she looks serious! "Talaga?! Hindi nga?" 'di 'ko makapaniwalang tanong. Talaga nga ba? Oh my God! Thank you!

I turned to Jake to hug him but he had withdrawn a bit as he was in tears. Natawa muna ako saglit sa hitsura nyang umiiyak na pleased na hindi mo maintindihan, bago kami nagyakap mag-asawa. He was shaking, crying and laughing at the same time. We were both happy, super thrilled. We were ecstatic.

"Dalawa! I have two already! Grabe! Oh my God!" Jake was screaming at the halls of the hospital after the checkup.

'Di ko sya masaway sa ingay at likot nya dahil I was thrilled myself. "May bata sa loob ko," I whispered. "I, am, super, duper, this-is-happening, pregnant," I repeated to myself for the news to really sink in.

"Ay! Papa-party tayo ulit! Tas gagawa tayo ulit ng isa pang bata!" Babe announced in the hospital elevator going down. Buti na lang we were alone.

Sinamaan ko sya ng tingin. "Tigil muna sa pa-party. I want to prepare the house for this blessing! Tsaka gusto ko ata ng maiinom. Nagugutom ako. At naiinitan."

"Umarte bigla?" taas-kilay nyang biro.

Kinurot ko sya.

"Joke lang Babe!" yakap nya sa'kin. "Anong gusto ng Babe ko na yan?" lambing nya pa. Hinimas-himas nya ang tyan ko. "At ng junior ko?"

Junior daw. May preference na sya. Ako kaya? "You want a boy?" I asked him.

"Mmm, yeah," he answered, not really bothered either way though. "We have Miracle and... Xavier. We like the name Xavier diba?"

Girl or boy I'm happy. I don't care kung ano pang name. Grabe, I'm pregnant! My insides work! Babae talaga ako. Hahaha! Buntis ako!

Tumango ako to acknowledge what he said. Everything came back to me again in a rush, Miracle, knowing about being pregnant after trying and trying and trying and then... I cried.

Everything was overwhelming, but in a good way. Yung burst of happiness, after getting our first child, after the news of us having a baby, was so sudden, unexpected, but welcome.

Ang tagal naming naghintay, nag-try, nagdasal, sumuko, nasaktan, natuto, umasa ng umasa at umasa ulit, pero heto na. It's really happening.

Niyakap ako ni Jake para aluin. "Hay Babe. Hay. This life! This awesome life!"

Bukod sa happiness ko, happy rin si Babe which was very important to me. He had been a real life-saver and how he had provided, loved and cared for me, he's everything!

"Hush now Babe. Baka makasama sa'yo ang pag-cry kahit happy tears," he whispered and then kissed my ear. "Tama na yan."

Tumango ako and smiled at my loving husband, grateful for his love and support.

Babe was split in three from then on - in full planning mode for Xavier plus taking care of his pregnant wife, in full Daddy mode for Miracle and as a swift C-Level Exec for his companies that he of course couldn't just drop and leave behind. Kahit ginawa nya nang home-based ang ibang work and meetings nya, those still was taking a chunk of his time but he was effortless in carrying everything out. He's literally Superman - my Superman, heart and brauns plus brains. Aileen = Luckiest human ever.
