A Sweet Memory

I woke up with the folder still clutched to my chest. For the first time in my life when I closed my eyes, I saw Dk rather than Krishna. Although they both were same and didn't meant anything special to anyone else but for me it was something.

My whole life, I saw Krishna behind my closed lids because I knew that I loved him but today, today I saw Dk and that's because I know that maybe, just maybe, I love him.

Yes, It's time that I admit this to myself and to him as well. I've longed for love all my life and now when I have it I don't want to spend a single second alone.

But you always stay Unloved, even if you love him, he's not yours.

I dismissed whatever my mind was thinking. Today wasn't a day for this. Yesterday I was wondering if he too knew about us, about our past but when I read what was in that folder, I was sure that yes he knew it all the way.

I smighed thinking about him. I couldn't wait to college and see him.

The first person I wanted to see today was him, so I immediately went to my class. Only a thought of him was able to make
butterflies fly in my tummy.

As I entered the class I scanned the room and saw lalita. I waved at her a bit too excitedly but her response was too subtle.

I made my way towards her, simultaneously looking around the room for a glimpse of long hairs, toothy grin and light brown irises.

But unfortunately, I found none.

"So, my dear Lalita, why is your face decorated with all this frown, hmm? "I asked lalita once I took my seat beside her. She shook her head in disagreement and gave me a half smile which was very unlikely of her but I decided not to interrogate her at the moment.

"So I wanted to tell you something" I said in order to change her mood. Her frown lightened while her smile brightened.

"Tell " she replied.

"It's um actually.. um, about Dk".
I mumbled shyly but frowned when I saw her smile fading away.  "What about him?" She asked sternly to which I gave her a confused look.

"I - I, I like him." I murmured to which a smile once again made its way to her face but her eyes held sadness.

"That's g-good Radhika. It was suppose to happen right? You going back to your Krishna." She said and I looked down smiling shyly.

"So now what?" She asked and I shrugged. "I wanted to talk to him today but I can't find him." I said to her once again looking around the classroom but still found no sign of him.

"It's ok Radhika." She said holding my shoulder gently, I gave her a forced smile "Maybe he's absent t-today, t-try tomorrow?" She said rather hesitantly to which I gave her a short nod initiating the silence.

After what felt like a forever lalita decided to break the silence.

"You know, you don't have powers." She whispered tapping her pen on the table.

"What"? I asked, a bit confused.
"You don't have power in this life Radhika, neither does he. You're both humans. Last time you both knew what was supposed to happen, but this time no one knows Radhika." She said almost cautiously as if trying to warn me.
