CHAPTER FORTY-ONE

JAMILLA's POV

"Don't do this to me, Jam." Jared plead.

I cringe my nose and rolled my eyes. "Don't you have anything else to say? Something important?"

I heard him sighed deeply, "I'm leaving for a business trip in Korea and staying there for almost a week."

A pang of sadness hits me. Pero mamamatay muna ko bago ko aminin sa kaniya iyon. Not now. "I know, i'm your secretary, stupid." sabi ko na nakapagpatawa sa kaniya.

"Please don't be mad at me. I know you'll miss me too."

Muntik ko nang maibuga kay Terrence na nasa harapan ko ang iniinum kong chocolate drink. The nerve!

Hinayaan ko munang makaalis si Terrence —na kasalukuyang pinapatay ako sa utak gamit at tingin—  bago ako magsalita ulit.

"You wish. Anyway, you have an hour to prepare—"

"Already done."

Napataas ang kilay ko. "How did you know?"

"I've checked my appointments yesterday for I thought you will not going to talk to me."

"You know me that bad, huh?"-me

"Yes. *sigh*"

"Ow, so why did you let her do that on you, anyway? Making me jealous?"

Narinig kong napasinghap siya. "No! I would rather be hit by a car than to make you jealous!"

Hindi ko na napigilan nang umalpas ang mahinang tawa sakin. Siraulong 'to. Ganon ba ako nakakatakot para ipagpalit niya ang pagkabangga sakin?

"Im glad we're cool." I can imagine him smiling.

"Who says we're cool?" Narinig kong napaungol na lang siya sa pagkainis. I smiled silently.

Gusto ko pa sanang makipag-asaran at kulitan, pero dumating na si Chief dito sa office niya. Gesturing me to get rid of my cellphone now. I just nod.

"Gotta go now, Roxanne— I mean Jared."

"Damn it, Jam. I swear to hell I didn't know her!" he almost screamed.

Lie.

I got her investigated. At nalaman ko lang namang isa siya sa 'mga' naging ka-fling ni Jared. But that doesn't mean he didn't know her! He should atleast know all his flings' names. Or pati yun ay wala lang sa kaniya, aside to their feelings once he dump them? Bastard.

"Whatever." I said dryly.

"I really hope we're okay now, Jam. Or I won't be able to focus on this trip well." he sounds desperate.
