JARED's POV

“I am sorry, Jared."

 

Mula sa pagkaka-lamukos sa mukha ko, I force my head to look up.

 

I smiled. Even though I'm fighting hard not to fake it. “It's no one's fault, Milliana." I said to her.

 

“No." Umiling siya nang bahagya. “If it weren't for you—"

 

“We won't be successful." Chief cuts her off. “Sorry, pare, for this."

 

Saglit na napatigil ako and looked at his eyes. When I saw the sincerity, napangiti na lang ako.

 

“Seriously, It's okay. Atleast, everyone's safe now." Sabi ko nang nakangiti padin at muling tumingin sa pintuan kung saan kasalukuyang inooperahan si Jamilla.

 

It's just a couple of minutes ago when the incident happened but still, sariwa pa din ang lahat sakin. I think it will be forever engrave in my mind.

 

How that dumbass tried to shot me and suddenly Jamilla walked in between.

 

I tried to push her away but before I can do that, Brent already pulled the trigger. I saw how his eyes went wide and suddenly started crying when Jamilla collapsed.

 

I also remember clearly how Brent killed himself by shooting himself with a gun on his head while chanting the words; ‘I'm so sorry, Jamilla' again and again.

 

I believe he really loves Jam. But I don't think he loves her more than I love Jam.

 

“So what are you gonna do, Smith?" I heard Vince (Vinn) ask. “Knowing Jam, I bet pag gising niya she wouldn't even want to know you're here."

 

Hearing those words felt like I've been hit by a car. But I ignored the feeling and breathed.

 

“I'll try to explain." I answered. “Besides, you will help me right?"

 

“We will." Nico said. “Pero kilala rin namin si Jamilla. She can be as stubborn as a spoiled brat."
