Sam hung up the phone, head shaking. "Coulson hasn't had any luck. Any news from Bucky? He said he'd call around now."

"No, nothing." I landed the jet onto the top of the tower. We'd been searching for a week, and no sign of the ambassador or the plane or anyone else that was on board. The government was already harassing us and questioning our ability to do anything.

"Sam? Can I ask you a question and you give me an honest answer?"

He slipped into the copilot's seat. "Yeah, sure. But I'm warning you, I only give one straight answer a day. Any more than that and I might snap."

"I'm being serious."

"So am I," he grinned. He saw my face and cleared his throat. "What's up, cap?"

"Why doesn't Bucky want to work with me, anymore? We were getting our old friendship back, but now..."

He nodded. "You stress him out."

"What?"

"Yeah, your gung-go, I have to save everyone attitude, I can do this all day stuff worries him," he shrugged.

"Oh."

"Ain't nothing serious, man. He doesn't hate you." He gave me a comforting pat on the shoulder.

Natasha was the first off the plane. She was eager to get our next goal over with: ask Tony if we could use his satellites. We'd been asking for days, but he refused by claiming he was 'too busy'.

"Want me to drop you off at your apartment so you can rest up first, old man?" Natasha asked.

I stifled my yawn. "No. Let's get this over with."

"I can do this on my own."

"I know. But I want to be there for moral support."

She rolled her eyes and shifted the car into gear. The car phone started to ring. Tash pressed a button and Bucky's face appeared on the dash screen. I shook my head; technology never ceased to amaze me.

"Any luck?"

"None so far. Have you tried Stark?"

"We're on our way."

"Maybe you should try asking Sophie to help us convince him," Natasha suggested to me. "I'd say Bruce would be our best bet, but with him out of town, that doesn't get us anywhere."

"Haven't you already used her enough?" Bucky spat.

"No one has used her!" I argued. He ended the call. Exasperated, I stared at Natasha. She shrugged.

"It's still worth a shot. I'll talk with Tony, and you ask Sophie if she can't override the system to use the satellites. She's smart, and she'll help us. Even if you pissed her off."

"I didn't-!"

"It's a joke, Rogers," she smiled.

"Would she even talk to me?"

"She's not one to hold a grudge. Besides, it's been a while. I'm sure she's moved on."

We parked in the garage. It was still early in the day, so it wasn't likely that Sophie would even be up yet. As I entered the living room, I saw I was right. Natasha headed for the lab, where Tony was likely still up from yesterday's project. Now seemed like the best time for a nap than ever. Sophie wouldn't be awake for a few more hours, so I had time to spare. I stretched out on the couch, glad to finally rest.
