The next few weeks passed by without a hitch, Kade took me out on dates and I tried to forgot all about what his dad told me. When I woke up this morning something felt off. The butterflies in my stomach wouldn't settle and I knew something was wrong. So when I went to school that day and Kade was missing, the burning in my hand flared up and I knew it was something with Kade.

"Percy, can we stop by Kades house on the way home? I'm worried something is wrong. He hasn't showed up today," Percy looked at me hesitantly wondering if I was going crazy.

"I'm sure he's fine Del," I shook my head and grabbed his arm.

"Percy! I know somethings wrong, please just take me to his house." He sighed and nodded as the last bell rang for school.

We quickly left the premises shuffling into the car. The ride to his house was quite as the air was full of tension. There was something wrong I just knew it.

His house was white and stood at three floors—standard for a pack house. Once Ryan put the car in park I bolted. Running from the car, I noticed the door was open. I knew it!

"Percy call the others!" Walking into the house, I scanned my surroundings walking through each room. I came across Kathrine and my heart stopped. There she was with kids holding onto her like their life depended on it.

"Meg—I mean Cordelia! I'm so glad you're here. I've been stuck in here keeping the kids safe but they're still out there." She rushed pointing out the door where the supposed threat was.

"Who's out there?"

"Rogues," I froze. Rogues are ruthless, wandering without a pack they start to loose their humanity, falling more and more into their wolf until there isn't a human side left. They're known for killing merfolk due to these conditions. We have to be careful. I nodded towards Kat quickly leaving the room to scan the rest of the house. Walking past the living room, I heard a noise.

Standing right in front of me was a rogue. A real, frothing at the mouth, rogue. My heart thumped in my chest as I held out my hands to defend myself. Glancing over at the faucet, a smirk rose onto my face. Oh, he would regret the day he ever met me. I took a breath in feeling the power surge through me. Imagining ever particle, ever drop of water flowing through me. Swiping my hands out in a sweeping motion the water came from under the faucet and into my hands. My hands spun over each other, controlling the ball of water until I moved one hand back and forth, swiping the water towards the rogue cutting off his oxygen supply. His body dropped with a thump and so did the water.

Kade ran in the room looking at me then at the rougue.

"Are you okay?" He looked me up and down checking for my nonexistent wounds. I did the same only he had marks covering his arms and a large gash down his cheek.

"What about you?! Look at you!" Conjuring the water, I enveloped my hands with it, holding it against his face. After flushing the wound, I grabbed a knife from the countertop and sliced my hand with it.

"What are you doing? Are you crazy?!" Kade looked alarmed with the blood seeming from my hand but I only held it up to his mouth.

"Drink," He looked appalled and shook his head.

"Del, I think you got your species mixed up, I'm not a vampire." I rolled my eyes holding my hand up to his face.

"Just trust me and drink it." He copied my actions and rolled his eyes before reluctantly taking my hand in his. I gestured him to do it with my other hand and suddenly I felt his mouth on my wound. His eyes widened in shock, gripping my hand tighter in his.

"Alright, that should be enough," He let go of my hand then wiped the back of his hand over his mouth.

"What was that?!" I rolled my eyes wiping my hand across the jeans I was wearing.

"It apart of who I am. Go look in the mirror," his confused glare looked at me until he walked over to the mirror on the wall and his confused look became only more intense.

"What—how?" A grin spread across my face.

"That my dear light is one of my abilities among many things." He looked like a fish out of water his mouth opening and closing.

"Hey Kade stoping gawking at my sister we have more important things to worry about." Following Percy's gaze i looked out the window only to see a group of people fighting.

Running out the door, I ignored Kades shouts for me to come back quickly kneeling on the group. Again, I pulled the water from the ground forming it into a easily controlled ball. Rustling sounded from behind me and in one sweeping motion, I flung the now frozen ball of ice into a rouges head knocking him unconscious. The water was now circling around my hands with my body forming into a fighting stance. Pulling my hand back, my fingers split apart forming small pellets which I froze with another curl of my hand. The rouges had now completely focused on me now and with another sweeping motion, the frozen pellets flew forward embedding themselves into their bodies. One by one, they collapsed to the ground until the very last one fell. My hands went flaccid and so did the water as it traveled back into the earth leaving only bloodstains in its wake.

My chest heaved up and down as my body suddenly felt sore. Sounds of footsteps snapped me out of my fight or flight mode and suddenly I was face to face with Kade.

"How—how did you do that? That was amazing!" My head lowered in attempt to hide my face but Kade lifted my chin to look at him.

"I-I, it was nothing just something else I need to tell you among other things. Which I will, in private," he nodded and grabbed my wrist.

"You know you had me worried even with all your badassry. Next time let me do the fighting." My gaze hardened. I would not back away from a fight just because my boyfriend decides he can't handle me out in the open. So that's what I told him.

"No I will not. I will always fight for people I hold dear. Not you or anyone else can stop me," he seemed taken aback by my sudden outburst but nodded his head anyway. He pulled me into a hug whispering a small thank you. That's when I felt it. The pain. Glancing down at my torso I suddenly noticed the ever growing red stain on my shirt. Stumbling back, I fell flat on my butt clutching my bleeding stomach.

"Awe man this was my favorite shirt." This was the last thing I remembered before everything went black.
