You and the rest of the crew had returned to investigate the Charleston Jail. You and Jay were in charge of command center for the night so you both decided on setting up in the back lobby of the jail. "Hey Jay, can you hand me that cable?" "Yeah, here." He handed it to you, your fingers slightly brushed against his. You blushed and pulled away. "Thanks." You smiled and turned back to the computer screen. You plugged in the cable and the screen turned on. When you were checking to see if all the cameras were on, a face jumped out on camera two. "Boo!" You screamed and jumped back. "Damn it, Aaron! That's not funny!" You yelled in to the walkie talkie and he laughed. You ran your hand through your (Y/H/C) hair and took a deep breath. "You okay, (Y/N)? You've seemed a little on edge all day." You turned around and saw Jay looking at you with concern. If only you knew Jay. "Yeah, I'm all good. Just a little excited I guess." He shrugged and sat down on the chair next to you. "Alright, command is up and running. Sun sets in 20, Zak." He said into the walkie. "Yep thank you." He leaned back and stared at the screen. You sighed and leaned back as well in preparation for the long night ahead. Hours passed and nothing major had happened yet. A few voices were heard and footsteps were caught, but nothing like last time. You sighed and grabbed your stomach. "Hungry?" You looked over and saw Jay standing there with two sandwiches and two waters. You nodded and took one of each before turning back to the screen. "So do you feel better now? I mean like compared to earlier?" Jay asked and you looked at him. "Yeah, thank you." He smiled and patted your thigh. "No problem." He said before turning back to look at the screen. You blushed and looked at the screen, hoping he wouldn't see your face. A few minutes passed before you saw a shadow dart across the wall in the cell room. You grabbed the walkie. "Hey Zak, I just saw a shadow in the old cell room." They grabbed their cameras and rushed to that room. "Good eyes." Jay commented. "Thanks." Jay slowly scooted his chair closer to yours. You pretended not to notice, but on the inside you were screaming. You continued to look at the screen when you felt his hand brush your thigh. You looked over at him and saw that he was staring at the screen. You blushed and looked back. Maybe it was just an accident. You told yourself until you felt him place his hand on your thigh. You looked at him and he looked back at you. "Is this okay?" He asked and you blushed. "Y-yeah." He smiled and you turned back to the screen. Holy crap this is happening. Okay deep breaths. You were trying to focus on what was happening inside but you couldn't with Jay's hand there. "Alright (Y/N) and Jay, I think we're gonna call it a night. Go ahead and break down, you guys can go over evidence tomorrow." You yawned and stood up. A comfortable silence filled the room as you both packed everything up and loaded it into the cars. You shut the trunk and stretched. "That's everything. I can't wait to go to bed, damn I'm tired." Jay chuckled and helped you into the car. You sat by the window in the very back and Jay sat next to you, followed by Billy in the second row, and Zak and Aaron in the front. On the drive to the hotel, Jay fell asleep and ended up laying his head on your shoulder. You stiffened but soon relaxed when you saw his face. You smiled and brushed a strand of hair away from his face. You gently shook his shoulders when you got to the hotel and he groggily got out of the car and you helped him to his room. He opened the door and looked back at you. "Thank you, (Y/N)." You nodded and started to walk across the hall to your room. "Wait!" You heard before the door to your room closed. You peaked your head around the door and saw Jay. "I was wondering if you wanted to grab some breakfast or lunch tomorrow before we go over the footage?" "Yeah I'd like that. Goodnight, Jay." You said softly and he smiled. "Goodnight, (Y/N)." You shut the door and crawled into bed. You shut the lights off and closed your eyes before sighing in content. Finally.
