You looked up at the huge structure in front of you and sighed. You and the rest of the crew were investigating an old castle in Ireland and you were debating on whether or not this was a good idea. I mean you were given the chance to investigate an actual castle in Ireland; it would be crazy to pass that up. On the other hand, the castle didn't have the brightest history. There were hundreds of documented deaths here, who knows how many undocumented deaths happened here, and the locals had a fair share of input that left you with the creeps. You felt someone grab your shoulder and you jumped a little. You turned and saw your boyfriend, Zak, standing there with a grin on his face. "Not funny!" You huffed and he chuckled before gently grabbing your waist and pulling you closer. "I'm sorry, Elizabeth. You were so focused on the castle I couldn't help myself." You sighed. "I guess..." He looked at you. "What's on your mind?" You quickly glanced at the castle before looking back at him. "Nothing." "Is it the castle?" He knew you too well. "Liz, most of what the villagers said probably isn't true. I mean yeah there was probably a lot of death and a few satanic rituals, but it'll be fine! I mean the guys and I have done investigations like these before and we're fine!" You gave him a 'are you serious' look and his face fell a little. "You'll be fine. nothing is gonna happen. Let's go get ready." He said before you both made your way over to command and grabbed some equipment. "Hey Zak, try not to do anything stupid tonight." You mumbled and heard the guys chuckle. Zak gave you an innocent look, "When have I ever done anything stupid?" Everyone gave him a look and he threw his hands up in surrender. "Okay, okay. I'll try not to." You knew that was the best you would get out of him so you just nodded your head and grabbed your camera. "Okay everyone. Elizabeth and I will take the second floor, Aaron and Nick will take the first floor, and Billy will man command." You all made your way into the castle and you couldn't help but be a little creeped out. You slowly made your way up the stairs and to the second floor landing. "Hello?" You called out. You didn't hear anything so you quietly inched your way forward. "Did you used to live here?" You heard shuffling come from the end of the hall so you stopped moving. "Zak, did you hear that?" "Yeah, I'll go check it out. Keep asking questions." He whispered before brushing past you and down the hall. "What's your name?" You could faintly make out the outline of Zak's shadow moving further away. You were starting to feel exposed. Like hundreds of eyes were watching you and there was no way to escape. You were suddenly overcome by emotions. You went from being overwhelmingly sad to unbearably angry within a second of each other and then it stopped. You felt... empty. You tried to call for Zak but you couldn't. You started to freak out but you had no control over your body anymore. There's no point in fighting me, little one. You'll only make this more enjoyable for me. A dark voice range out in your head. "Why are you doing this to me?" You felt like crying, which only made him laugh. I just wanna have a little chat with your boyfriend. You saw Zak make his way back to you. "Elizabeth, you okay?" You tried to warn him but no words came out. "She's fine, Zak. But you and me are gonna have a chat." You saw Zak freeze up. "Don't hurt her." You felt yourself chuckle. "That's all up to you, pretty boy. She's quite the catch I must say." You saw Zak's jaw clench. "What do you want." "Why so serious! I just want to have some fun. It's been a rather long time since such a fine woman's come into my castle." You felt your hand start to move up the side your body and you whimpered. "Stop it!" Zak took a step forward and your hand stopped moving. "I wouldn't do that. It would be a shame if she got hurt. She told you not to do anything stupid, Zak." You grabbed one of your hands. "That'll be a warning. Anything else and she'll get hurt." "Zak! Elizabeth! You guys okay?" You heard Nick yell as footsteps made their way up the stairs. "Looks like we have guests." You said as a smile grew on your face. "Guys! Don't come up here! Liz is possessed-" "I told you not to do anything stupid." You said darkly before you grabbed one of your fingers and pulled. A loud pop rang out and you wanted to scream. "Please for my sake, do something else. I'm rather enjoying her pain." You chuckled darkly. At some point, Nick and Aaron had joined Zak and were staring in horror. "You need to leave. You are not welcome here." "On the contrary, I was summoned. A long time ago actually, so if anyone isn't welcome here that'll be you." "I said leave her! Now!" You grabbed another finger. "Or what, pretty boy?" Nobody said anything but you felt your head start to burn. "Zak..." You mumbled and to your surprise he heard it. "Fight it, Liz!" He yelled and you kept trying to take control. You slowly felt yourself gain control until the burning stopped and you felt exhausted. You sank to the floor and felt Zak grab you. "Elizabeth! Come on, say something. You looked at him and gave him a weak smile. "I told you not to do anything stupid." He sighed and pulled you in for a hug. You hissed when he bumped your finger and he quickly pulled back. "I'm so sorry. I said I wouldn't do anything stupid and you got hurt because of me." You brushed his cheek with your good hand. "Nobody could have prevented that. What's important now is that its over and I need a hospital." "I'll go start the car." Aaron said before running down the stairs. "And I'll go tell Billy we're done for the night. Call me when you can." Nick said before running off. Zak picked you up and carried you down to the car. "I love you, Zak. I'm sorry I ruined the investigation." You mumbled. He kissed your forehead. "I love you too, Liz. And you didn't ruin anything. Now, lets get you to a hospital." He said before helping you get into the car. Once he was sure you were settled, he ran to his side, got in, and sped off down the road.
