You paced your living room floor anxiously. Your boyfriend, Aaron, was at a convention and it had been a few days since you've seen him. Now, you could handle being separated from Aaron a few days; he would be gone a number of days for his investigations. What made you anxious was the fact that you hadn't heard from him all day. He would normally send you a good morning text and then call you when he was getting ready to head home, but your phone had been silent all day. You ran a hand through your hair and sat down on the couch. You checked your phone for what seemed like the hundredth time that hour but still nothing. "What the hell." You mumbled before deciding to just go to bed. You were getting ready to walk upstairs when you heard the door knob to the front door start to turn. You froze and poked your head around the corner. The door opened and you sighed in relief when Aaron stepped through the doorway. The relief was short lived as you remembered he was avoiding your texts and calls. You stomped over to him and crossed your arms across your chest. "What the hell?" He looked at you in confusion. "It's nice to see you too, beautiful." You felt yourself blush and tried to fight against it. "You didn't answer my calls, you didn't text me back, and I was so scared. I thought something happened to you." You felt tears start to prick at your eyes. "Hey, hey... I'm sorry." He said as he walked over and enveloped you in a hug. He pulled back a little and whipped the tears away with the pad of his thumb. "I wanted to surprise you. I thought you would be happy to see me, but I guess it didn't work out too well." You chuckled a little. "I am happy to see you, babe. I'm sorry I jumped to conclusions. I was just so worried when I didn't get your text this morning." He kisses your forehead and chuckled a little. "I didn't mean to worry you." He stepped back and leaned down to pick up a bouquet of flowers off the floor. You hadn't even noticed he had them in his hand when he walked through the door. "I got these for you." You felt your heart rate pick up and you smiled. "Thank you, Aaron. They're beautiful." You accepted them and gave him a kiss. "I'll go put them in water." You walked into the kitchen and pulled a vase down from one of the cabinets, filled it with water, and arranged the flowers. You felt a pair of arms wrap around your waist and you leaned back against Aaron's chest. "I'm sorry I got mad." You whispered. He kissed the top of your head. "It's okay. It was my fault for worrying you." You turned around and looked up at him. "We cool?" You chuckled. "Yeah, we cool." He kissed you before leading you back into the living room so he could get his stuff and then lead you upstairs to your bedroom. You sat on the bed and watched him get himself ready for bed, thinking about how lucky you were. He pulled back the covers before laying down and pulling you to his chest. "I love you, (Y/N)." You smiled lazily. "I love you too."
