Your hands were shaking as you grabbed your bag from the overhead compartment of your seat. You had just finished your final tour overseas with the Air Force and it had been over 3 years since you'd last seen your husband, Jay, in person. As you were exiting the plane, people would thank you for your service and what not but you only responded with a polite smile; your focus on getting out of the plane and into the arms of your awaiting husband. As you exited the terminal, your eyes immediately scanned the crowd for any sight of him but you couldn't find that crazy hair of his. It wasn't until you looked further back that you saw him and the rest of the guys waiting for you with balloons, flowers, and a large poster saying 'Welcome home Captain (Y/L/N)!' You felt tears spring from your eyes when he found you, a giant smile spreading across his face. He immediately began to walk towards you and you did the same, well it was more of a jog. People moved to the sides so you could get through easier. You jumped and wrapped your legs around his waist while your arms wound around his neck, pulling him into a passionate kiss. You heard people clapping and cheering but you weren't really paying attention to them; all your attention was on the love of your life. You pulled back and he wiped some tears from your eyes. He set you down and you both embraced each other, afraid that if you let go he would vanish. "I missed you so much." He whispered into your ear. "I missed you more." He chuckled and placed a kiss on your cheek. "I don't think that's possible." The guys walked over and took turns hugging you before handing you the flowers and balloons. "Thank you guys so much." "It's our pleasure, (Y/N). Now let's go home. Nick made this really good lasagna and Billy made his famous dip and I'm ready to go into a food coma." Aaron said excitedly before walking off. You all chuckled and followed behind him. Jay kept his arm wrapped around your waist the whole time and it was the greatest feeling in the world; to know that you had served your country honorably and to finally be reunited with the love of your life. A small smile crept onto your face as you stared at Jay, taking in every detail. He looked over at you and smiled before leaning in. "What are you thinking?" He whispered. You felt chills roll down your spine and butterflies erupt in your stomach. "How lucky I am and how I am undeniably and utterly in love with you." He kissed you. "I love you more." "Hey love birds! The car isn't gonna wait forever!" You both looked up and saw Aaron, Nick, and Billy already in the car while Zak was waiting for you guys to get in. You both chuckled and walked over to the car, beyond ready to begin a new chapter of your life- together.
