CHAPTER 32
I walk in to the kitchen and find that it's empty. I sigh in relief and sit down on one of the dining table chairs. My mind keeps replaying what had just occurred over and over again. 'Hi Kiera!' Shouts Lily all cheerful. I have my back to her and don't bother turning to look at her. Things have been weird between us so I'm confused as to why she would act like this. I hear her giggling before falling on to the floor. I get up to help her and sit her down on one of the chairs. It's only then that I realise she's drunk.
'You're drunk.'
'Yeah, I want a drink!' She slurs. I roll my eyes before mumbling, 'I think you've had enough.' She moans and then giggles. I give her a confused look but decide to not say anything. I go on my phone, checking if I have any messages and I feel Lily's arms wrapping themselves around my head. 'Erm... Lily what are you doing?'
'I just wanted to apologise about your mum being dead. But I don't know why you're being all super depressed because you never seemed to like her anyway. So you should be glad she's gone.' My heart starts beating tripled the normal amount because I can't believe what she just said. She must have been thinking that when she was sober because drunk talk is just sober people's thoughts. 'Why is your heart beating so so so fast?' Her voice snaps me out of my thoughts but I don't say anything. 'I need a drink.'
'No, you don't.' I quickly say, trying to grab her wrist but she gets up too fast. She's already up on her feet but her walking is all over the place and you can tell she's a little tipsy. She keeps stopping to prevent herself from falling before walking again. She reaches to grab a bottle of vodka but I beat her to it and take it from her. She begins mumbling and saying things that I don't even understand. 'You need to go home.'
'I don't, I'm fine!' I roll my eyes again and try to grab her but she just folds her arms defensively.
'I'll give you a drink if you come with me.' Immediately, I gain her full attention and she allows me to drag her out of the room. We go to the living room as I'm looking for Lucy and spot her and Liz. 'Lucy, Lily needs to go home,' I say emotionlessly.
'Well Lily can ask me herself.'
'Well, as you can see, she's a little drunk and I'd ask Katie but she's also drunk.'
'Kiera, you promised me a drink! Where's my drink? Did you lie?' I look at Lily in shock and look at Lucy before asking 'satisfied?'
'Liz do you want a ride?'
'No, it’s fine.'
'Come on Liz! You get to sit at the front.' Liz ends up smiling and says 'fine.' I drag Lily out of James' house and walk to Lucy's car, with Lucy and Liz walking shortly behind us. Lucy unlocks her car automatically, while we're walking and Lily's eyes light up as she jumps up and down.
'Oh my god, It’s Lucy's car. I'm sitting at the front,' she slurs again, as she skips to Lucy's car. When we get to the car, I say 'come on Lily, you can sit at the back.'
'I don't want to!' She says pouting. Lucy sighs and apologises to Liz. Liz just nods and sits at the back. I help Lily in the passenger seat, putting on her seatbelt, before closing the door and walking away. 'Wait, where are you going?' Lucy asks.
'And why do you care?'
'I don't but just answer my question.'
'I'm walking home.'
'Why would you want to walk home when you can get a free ride?'
'I'd rather walk.'
'Just get in the car, seriously Kiera.'
'Yeah, Kiera get in the car.' Lily mimics and I just roll my eyes before getting in the car.
The car ride is silent, apart from Lily speaking utter rubbish. Lucy parks outside Lily's house and I walk out of my seat to help Lily out of hers. 'You don't have to help; I can just take her inside.'
'It's fine.' I state and help Lily to her door. The light is off so her parents must be out.
'Where does she keep her damn keys?' Lucy mutters as she looks in the obvious places.
'It used to be under that plant pot.' I say pointing towards a small plant pot. She checks it before saying 'found it!' She unlocks the door and we head upstairs to Lily's bedroom. Lucy takes her shoes and socks off and says 'Lily, take off your dress.'
'But I'll be cold.' Lily says innocently.
‘You’ll put on your pyjamas so you’ll be warm.' Lucy hands her some pyjamas before pushing her into the bathroom. Minutes later, Lily emerges form the bathroom, dressed in her pyjamas. 'Come on,' Lucy says to Lily, holding her hand out for Lily to take, which she does. She guides Lily to her bed and covers her with the duvets and sits at the edge of the bed, stroking Lily's hand.
I walk out of the room and go downstairs, into the kitchen. I know my way around, so I find it very easily to get an aspirin and a glass of water. I go back up to Lily's room and put them on her bedside table. I look at Lily and she's fast asleep. We're about to go, before Lucy says 'wait!' She grabs a piece of paper and a pen and writes a note.
You probably have a killer headache right now, but there's some aspirin and water to help: 3
P.S: You shouldn't have drank as bad as you did so you only have yourself to blame: P ~xo Kiera&Lucy ox~
I read it before leaving and we go outside back to the car. Liz is still sitting at the back and Lucy says 'sorry we took a while.' Liz just smiles. Before Lucy starts the engine, I ask 'how do you open the window?'
'Why do you want to open it?'
'Erm... Maybe because I'm car sick? Or did you forget that?' She chooses to ignore my last comment and just says 'well, you're better off sitting at the front then.' I roll my eyes and get out of my seat and sit where Lily was sat before.

Five minutes later, Lucy drops Liz off at her house and she says a quick 'goodbye,' to Lucy before walking to her house.

Another five minutes later, she drops me off outside my house and I notice that my dad's car is in the driveway. 'Looks like your dad is home.'
'Do I look blind to you?' I ask. She sighs and says 'let's hope he's not drunk.'
'Shut up!' She rolls her eyes at my response.
'Why are you defending him? He'll do something to hurt you.'
'And why do you care? You don't even know him.' I can tell by the way she's been acting that she doesn't want me to move back in with my dad but I couldn't care less.
'Fine, just don't come crying to me when something happens.'
'Don't worry, I won't. I never have and I never will.' I simply state before walking out of her car and towards my house. I put my key in the lock, unlocking the door and instantly I notice some luggage in the hallway. 'Kiera, we were waiting for you.'
'Who's "we?" dad?' I hear the sounds of high heels walking towards us and I see a strange woman that I've never seen before. 'Kiera, this is Andrea...My wife.'
My mouth opens, forming around a failed reply. Nothing.
