CHAPTER 48

I get up from my bed to go to the bathroom as my bladder will burst any minute soon, but I notice that I'm not alone. 'God, Liz what do you want?'

'Still waiting.' I sigh and ask 'what time is it?'

'A little after ten.'

'Well, can I go to the bathroom then? I sarcastically ask and she rolls her eyes. I go to the bathroom and fix my hair that is all over the place and brush my teeth.

I come out ten minutes later and notice Liz is still there. 'Finally!' Liz sighs and I just mutter 'shut up.'

'So?'  She asks as she sits on my bed. I get up to get the letter and say 'first, read that,' before laying back down on my bed.

'What? Your dad raped Lucy?' She asks once she finishes reading the letter.

'Yep, I spoke to her about it yesterday.'

'Where did you get this?' I fill her in what happened last night and she says 'wow.'

'I know right.'

'Are you going to go?' She asks curiously and I tell her about the conversation I had with my grandma in the car.

'He can't really stop you from going though can he?'

'He can because I’m not eighteen.' She smiles sympathetically and says 'I need to talk to Lucy.'

'Talk to her later, she's with Katie and Lily right now. '

'Oh yeah.'

'And I need to confront my dad.'

'Good luck.' I roll my eyes and sarcastically say 'thank you!'

A few hours later, Liz has gone round to Lucy's house and Andrea and Lola have gone out. That leaves me and my dad alone in the house. I open the messages that are displayed on my phone.

Sorry xo-Luce

Did you know about Lucy? xLilx

Did you know what Luce was going to tell us? xoK

(To Lucy) Stop it! You have nothing to be sorry for :3 ~K~

(To Lily) Yes, I found out a few hours before you did. ~K~

(To Katie) Yes, I found out a few hours before you did. ~K~

I abandon my phone and go to the living room where my dad is watching TV and say 'dad?'

'Yes, Kiera? We need to talk by the way.'

'I know we do, did you know that mum wanted me to go and live with Grandma Marie?'

'What? Who told you that?'

'I've seen the letter dad.'

'What letter? I have no ide-'

'Stop lying to me dad!’ I shout. He looks alarmed and apologises.

'I can explain everything in that letter. Your mother is confused.' He replies.

'Lucy confirmed it last night and you have the nerve to say she's lying?'

'Kiera, that was ages ago.'

'Oh, that's fine then, as long as it was ages ago!' I sarcastically say. 'How could you do that? You're disgusting.'

'Kiera, I’m sorry, you have to forgive me.'
