CHAPTER 41
The movie comes to an end and Tom says 'thank God for that.'
'Shut up Tom!' Demands Katie and it's clear that she's offended. 'You guys we're watching the next one!'
'What? Are you being serious Katie?' Tom asks in shock and Katie replies with 'duh!'
'Come on Tom, let's go and find the others,' says Chris as he rises from his seat.
'Fine, go, we don't care, it'll just be a girls thing!' Kate replies.
'I think I'm going to go and join them,' Lily says as she gets up.
'What? Lily!'
'I'm sorry Katie but you’re actually lucky I watched this one and I am definitely not watching the next one. I'd actually rather hang out with the boys,' Katie rolls her eyes and mutters 'fine.' Lily shakes her head, before walking off.
'Come on Katie, you have us,' Lucy states, while wrapping an arm around her shoulder. Katie smiles and puts on the movie.
'Katie can we swap places now?' Liz asks innocently and I begin to laugh. Their serious facial expressions shut me up instantly and I bring my knees up, burying my head in them.
'What?'
'Can we swap places now?'
'I'm actually really comfortable, I'm not being nasty or anything.' I smirk and I'm grateful for the position that I'm sat in. Liz sighs before saying 'I want to sit next to Lucy.'
'You can take my seat, I don't actually want to watch this either.'
'Kiera!' Katie gasps. 'I just don't understand how someone doesn't want to watch this!'
'You'll see, eventually,' I tell her before walking out of the room and sitting in the kitchen alone.
I begin thinking of the surprise my dad and Andrea had in store for me. I can't believe it's true and I refuse to believe it's true. 'Hey, what are you doing here?'
'I'm just thinking James.'
'About?'
'Stuff.' He gives me a weird look and says 'we decided to go to the cinemas to watch a horror film at the cinemas. Come on, it'll be fun!'
'And whose idea was this? I bet it was Chris' idea and how am I going to tell my dad this?'
'It really was and Liz took care of it, any way, come on!' I should’ve known that. I roll my eyes before following him out of the house. The boys practically run there, so I walk with Katie. With Lily, Lucy and Liz following shortly behind.

We go to buy some snacks but we can't see the boys, so they must have gone already. When we get to our seats at the back, Max is sitting cosily in the corner of the back row. Joe is sitting next to him, followed by Chris, Tom and James. I sit besides him and next to me is Lucy, followed by Lily, Liz and Katie. 'I'm going to go and sit next to Katie,' states Joe rising from his seat. I roll my eyes because then we'll have to move up and I just got comfortable.
Once we're all settled, we focus on the screen in front of us and some adverts are on. 'What movie are we watching?' I ask to no one in particular.
'Carrie.' James and Lucy reply at once. I sink in my chair, as I'm bored and more people begin to arrive. Some other people like the back, as they sit in front of us, filling the whole row.
'Aww, I was just about to say my invisible friends were sitting in the row before us,' complains Max. I'm pretty sure the people in front of us heard as multiple heads turn around to look at him and I try not to laugh.
The movie is still not on and James asks 'can they not just fast forward this? I didn't pay to watch this; I paid to watch a movie.' One woman who is sitting in front of us turns around and looks at Max and gives him a death stare.
'I didn't even say anything,' he says defensively and she turns around. James begins to laugh hysterically and I say 'James, my ears are bleeding.' I receive a playful shove and my head lands on Lucy's shoulder. I quickly sit back up and she whispers 'Kiera you know you can lay on me right?' I just nod and she goes back to her conversation with Liz and Lily.
The movie is still not on and James begins throwing pop corn everywhere yelling 'it's snowing, you guys!' Chris, Max and Tom begin laughing but Lucy gets angry and takes the pop corn off of him. 'But I paid for it,' he pouts.
'I don't care, you're just embarrassing us, grow up, I swear I'm never going anywhere with you again!' He rolls his eyes and folds his arms.
When the trailer of Gravity comes on James begins clapping non - stop. Lucy grabs his arms over my body, making sure he stops making a fool out of himself. He pouts again but whispers 'I won't clap,' she gives him a look before slowly letting go.
'I can't see the screen.' Tom says panicking.
'Did you just say you can't see the screen?' I whisper while giggling and he says 'Kiera shut up, it's not funny!' Being the idiot that James is, he decides to take control of the situation by patting the bald tall man in front of Tom. He turns around and looks at Tom but James starts speaking.
'Excuse me, may you rest your head because my bro here can't see.'
'Rest my head? You want me to rest my head for a movie that I paid ten pounds for?' Lucy begins cursing under her breath and I smirk, as the situation is highly amusing.
'Erm...Yes?'
'After you throw popcorn at me and everyone else? No chance,' finishes the man, as he turns around. If anything, he sits up straight, blocking Tom's view even more and I erupt in laughter.
'Look what you've done James!' Max says annoyed.
'It wasn't my fault!'
'Whatever, I'm going to sit beside Joe.' The man must have heard this as he turns around and says 'I'm sorry, I'll move my head; I just wanted to annoy your friend here.'
'Thank you and my friend will not be annoying you, I can assure you!' The man seems thankful but saying James is annoyed would be an understatement.
Tom says something to Max and James interrupts their conversation by loudly saying 'shsssss,' and the stretching he does doesn’t go unnoticed by everyone. Strangers shoot glances at him and the people in front of us look at Max and he gives James a death stare. Lucy closes her eyes tightly and I can tell she's embarrassed.
'James.' I warn him and he shrugs his shoulders. 'I bet you can't keep quiet throughout the movie.'
'I can!'
'You can't!'
'Fine, if I do, which I will by the way, you have to give me twenty pounds.'
'And if you don't, you have to give me twenty pounds.' I respond.
'Deal,’ he says stretching his hand for me to shake and I shake it. It's obvious to everyone that I only did that to shut James up.
'Oh by the way, you can’t do stupid things either, like throw popcorn,' I say.
'Fine, but you will owe me some serious money Blondie.' I roll my eyes at him but stay quiet.
'Oh and by the way the deal starts now.' I tell him.
'Any more "oh by the way" statements you want to tell me?' I clench my jaw as he impersonates me and I say 'no,' which silences him.
After a long wait, as we were quite early, the movie comes on. I expect James to mutter 'finally' but he doesn't say a word. I smile but I know it won't last.
I desperately feel like laying on someone and there is no way I'm laying on James, so I rest my had on Lucy's shoulder deliberately this time and get a good view of the screen. She acknowledges my movement by smiling down at me and returning her gaze on the screen.
This will definitely be a long day.
