CHAPTER 34

I'm thankful that the cafe is only a five minute walk. I go to the cash point and take out twenty pounds, before heading for the cafe. I arrive there shortly and I know Lucy will be sitting at the back, where we used to. I head towards the back and I'm not surprised to find that I'm right. 'You took your time,' she says once she notices me

'I got a little held up.'

'I realised.' I roll my eyes, sitting down and ask 'have you been here since one?'

'Yeah, I thought you would turn up then, but I guess I was wrong.' My stomach rumbles and she asks 'have you not had breakfast?'

'I was rushing and got held up.' She just scoffs and I say 'I'm going to get a hot chocolate, do you want anything?'

'I already have this,' she says motioning to her coffee and she continues, 'hot chocolate isn't breakfast. You should get something else along with it.'

'It's fine. I'm not really hungry.' I walk away before she can respond and order a hot chocolate. I wait for it near the counter. While standing at the counter, I realise I have great view of everything. I can see that Lucy is on her phone and I can see her entire outfit. She's wearing a white mini skirt with a white shirt that goes up to her forearms. She's wearing white vans and her blonde hair if flowing down her shoulders. My drink is ready, so I take it and go back to my seat. I look at Lucy and ask 'when are they coming?'

'I don't know, Katie texted saying she couldn't be bothered and that she had a killer headache while Lily texted saying later.'

'So, Katie isn't coming?'

'I really don’t know but I said I went to the party she practically forced me to and she didn't reply.'

Speaking of Lily and Katie, they walk in, looking horrible. Katie’s wearing a huge grey hoodie along with black leggings with converse. Her hair is tied up into a messy bun and she's wearing sun glasses. Lily doesn't look as bad as Katie because she's wearing black leggings with a black cardigan, along with black converse. Her hair is messy and all over the place and she has sunglasses above her head. 'Look what the cat dragged in,' Lucy states and they don't bother replying to it. Lily sits next to Lucy and Katie sits next to me.

'I have the biggest headache ever.' Katie mumbles, burying her head in both of her hands.

'You look worse than Lily and you should've seen her last night.'

'Shut up Lucy!' Lily says, getting offended.

'I can't even remember anything from last night.' Katie says.

'Where were you? I didn't even see you,' Lucy asks looking at her.

 'I can't even remember.'

'What did I do yesterday?' Lily asks randomly.

'I barely saw you, except for when I drove you home. Basically, Liz wanted to sit at the front but you threw a tantrum and demanded to sit at the front.' Lily covers her face, embarrassed and Lucy says 'you should ask Kiera what happened before that, you were irritating her for quite a while.' Lily looks up and says 'what did I do?'

'You came into the kitchen looking for a drink and I was there.' I say and Lucy says 'you probably said a bunch of stuff because that's how you get when you're drunk.' Lily gives her a stern look, before looking back at me and says 'let's hear how I embarrassed myself.'

'It was nothing big.'

'Now, I know it's something big.' Lily states.

'I can’t wait to hear this!' Katie says as she removes her sunglasses. 'Wait, I'm starving and I need some food,' Katie says. Lily says 'me too,' and they go to the counter
