Chapter 40: 2nd Trial

Jin's POV

After the fitting I went down to meet with Adam. I brought a peace offering of food with me, because I knew he would forget to eat when he got deep into his work, and for some reason the kidnappings had affected him a lot. I knocked on his door,"Be their in a sec!" I heard Adam yell. I waited for about 5 minutes then decided he forgot to let me in and opened the door my self.

Adam was standing by a wall with maps set up, he was marking locations down then rushing frantically to a paper and wrote other things down.

"Brought you dinner." I said admiring his work. He didn't answer, just continued working.

"Hey, I haven't seen you get this invested since the Camera Face Thief thing." I said with a sigh.

"Well, thing about that, he turned out to be okay, I doubt some people that abduct kids, and have them kill each other is an okay person." Adam said looking serious.

"Wait he had them kill eachother, how do you know that?" I questioned.

"Over heard Uni and Rex, I was going to consult with Uni later to confirm, but as you see, I got distracted." He said pointing to his board of maps.

"Either way, you have to eat or you won't think straight." I said.

Adam nodded and sat down, " I could use a break and a refresher. So what I have right now-" He began to say then took a bite of his food.

"Is they had to have been low on soldiers so they started kidnapping, with what the files say, it has been going on for many years especially the age they were kidnapped at, is even a more show of how long it has been going for-"

I interrupted," How old was Rex?

"12." Adam said. I tried to imagine what I was doing around that age, probaly not getting tortured or brutally slaughtering children.

"Why are you so sucked into this, the guy killed probaly half of these other kids, didn't he say something about him being part of some trials!" I rambled.

"I don't know, he had to been forced, after all they were imprisoned and no one new where they were." Adam said.

"So that gives him the right to kill them all?!" I countered.

Adam grunted and walked out the room.
"I'm gonna question Uni.", with that he stormed off. I was curious now and wanted to know how this would end so I went with him. He did not acknowledge the fact I had tagged along, but I was okay with that.

Uni answered the door, Nick was in his room and was playing with metal scraps and bolts. I wondered what he was building then my attention was focused onto Adam's and Uni's conversation.

"Uni I have some questions regarding the camps and your positions." Adam started.

"Nick, can you please leave." Uni said kindly to Nick. Nick left the metal parts and left, Uni closed the door behind him, and we were alone with Uni.

"What do you want." Uni said giving a way different tone then he had spoken to Nick only a few seconds before.

"The camp, what were your positions, and what exactly happened?" Adam said.

"They lock you up and we wait." Uni responded.

"Can you further expand on that?" I asked.

"They take you away, they put you in a cage, no food and only a little water, sometimes you are alone sometimes there are others. Then for two days they fed us, then they stopped and said, we had to earn our lives, kill the other and you will be fed." Uni said coldly.
