Guardians 1: Ashes

Chapter 1:Kalá

3rd POV

A loud explosion is heard through out the town. The towns people are sleeping some awaken by this explosion. We are here in the town of Oakwood where we see a boy running for dear life. A man in armor shouts at him as he runs.

Guard's POV

I yelled at the kid. The mage's apprentice had made a spell that made a gigantic explosion.
I assumed the Lord is awake by that.
I chase after the kid and soon the mage's apprentice was coming in on my rear.

"Adam where did he go?" He asks.

I pause and look around realising I had lost track of him."Dang it."I mutter." My mentor is going to kill me for losing him Jin!"I exclaim.

"Don't worry Adam you are not the first to lose sight of him. He has been stealing for quite a while." Jin says to reassure me.

"I know but I thought this was my chance. I thought we would finally catch that cursed kid. Ya know?" I say

" I understand Adam we just need to have eyes on the perimeter he could not of gone far." Jin said.

" What did he take anyways?" I questioned Jin.

"He took my spell book." Jin muttered and looked away trying to hide his grief.

3rd POV

Little did they know, above them a boy was smiling and was looking through a book. A spell book. The boy walked on the roof stating words from the book. As they did nothing he closed the book and shoved it in his bag. He climbed down the roof jumping over pipes and rubble gracefully. He took off his Mask and smiled at him self. "Wait until I tell Nick what I found." He walks away into darkness. Later to appear in a giant house.

Nick's POV

I was laying in the 'house' until I heard yelling from downstairs. I knew it was past curfew so I poked my head out the door. There was Janet yelling at someone to go to bed.

The kid mimicked Janet in an annoying voice and started walking up stairs.

I knew it was Cory by the mimicking. When ever he got annoyed he would just copy what they say in a really really annoying voice. I jumped back on my bed and waited until Cory came in. I never heard the door open but soon someone grabbed me.

"Ahh don't kill me!" I yelled.

"What? No it's me Nick, Cory." He smirked at me.

I looked up and sure enough Cory was standing by my bed side. I smiled "What did you bring back? Any mushroom soup?"

"Eww gross Nick. No" Cory said as he pulled out a book and handed it to me.

"I know there is mushroom soup in there Cory, don't hold out on me." I try to persuade him into giving me it.

He was silent as I flipped through the pages." Is this a real spell book I questioned?"

"As real as it gets." He smirked and continued, "Stole it from the mage's apprentice himself."

"What? Cory you did not. I swear you come up with some crazy stories." I said as I handed him the book back.

He walked to his bed and dumped the stuff he had in his bag.

"See!" He exclaimed."No mushroom soup!"
He paused and picked up a box. "Where did this come from?" He questioned him self.

I walked over and looked, "Ooo! This one has my name on it! How convinet." I looked at Cory." Cory did you get me an early birthday present?" I smiled at him.
