Chapter 19: Sketches

Shelby's POV

"I just wanted to tell you I am sorry." I said. Cory stood there watching. I realised he wasn't looking at me but looking past me, at Alex. She was sitting there eyes tightly shut, and her necklace was flashing a purple light. She was whispering to her self, " No, no no..."

I turned back to Cory. "Are you listening." I asked. He ignored me. "Hello?" I said. "Cory I'm sorry, I know you're mad, but you don't have to ignore me." I said. Cory then put a hand on my shoulder and turned me around. I looked and saw a purple glowing light seeping out of Alex's left eye. He started to back up slowly and so did I. Alex then held her head in her hands. She sat there for a while, then stopped with a sigh. Alex finally relaxed and so did Cory. Adam walked in.

"There you are." He grabbed Cory's shoulders. Then looked at Alex. "Nice, you found her." He then looked at me. "Hi Shumpy." He said with a big smile and walked out, Alex and Cory following. When it got later I decided I will talk to Cory, hopefully I could apologize and he would actually listen. When everyone went to sleep, and Uni had left Cory's room, I went in. "Hi." I hissed. Cory jumped up and grabbed something from his table. I turned on the light switch, he was putting on his mask. "What are you doing!" He yelled.

"I wanted to tell you I was sorry for the third time." I said grumpily.

"Okay." Cory said.

"Why was your mask off?" I asked.

"Because I was going to sleep, until you came in." He said frustrated.

"You weren't wearing it when Uni was in here were you?" I asked. There was silence.
"Why not?" More silence. "Were you and Uni friends, before coming here?" I asked.

"Yeah." Cory said quietly.

"What kingdom are you from?" I asked.

"That's a dumb question." Cory said.

"Then why didn't you answer it?" I countered.

"From Kalá, after all, we are Guardians of Kalá." Cory said annoyed.

"Then why did Uni and Rex come from the Prodótis kingdom?" I said curiously. Cory froze.

"H-h-h how do you know that. You aren't suppose to know that." Cory said stuttering. "It's none of your buisness!" Cory shouted.

I sat down next to Cory, " You have to tell us eventually." I said.

"That is where you are wrong, I don't have to tell you anything." Cory said.

"Why do you want to barrie it so badly?" He looked up at me, and I stared into his eyes, once again, I saw the familiar scene of loss. I pulled him closer to me and hugged him. He sniffled and tried to push me away, but I didn't stop. I will squeeze him till his eyes pop out I thought, or at least some back story. He sighed.

"Can you please leave." He asked actually politely.

"Nope, not until you talk." I demanded.

He laid down. "Looks like you are sleeping on the floor." He said with a grin.

Later on, I felt my self move, but I didn't open my eyes. When I woke up that morning, I was in my own room. I got up and checked on Ross. He was sleeping cuddling his chicken plush. I looked in Jin's room, he was reading. He looked up from his book and said, "Hi." I said, "Hi." Back then closed the door. I went into Adam's room, but he wasn't there. I then went to Alex's room, she wasn't there either. Next was Cory's room but he was missing too. I went into Nick's and he was gone as well. I was hesitant to check in Uni's and Rex's room. I didn't really know them, but if I did,I could ask them about Cory and Nick after all. So I walked in. "Hi." I said.

"Hello." Uni said. "Yo." Rex said.

"How are you two enjoying your stay?" I asked.

"Oh it's nice. Rex is still recovering so he can't do much, but once he does I'm sure it will be more fun." Uni said giving a warm smile. "Do you want to see some pictures I drew?" Uni asked.

"Uhh sure." I said. Uni went to the closet and grabbed a book. He then sat down on the ground and ushered me towards him. I sat down next to him and he flipped open the book. "Wow these pictures are amazing." I said in excitement.

"Thanks, I'm really into more of a comic book style of art, I'm glad you like it." Uni said.

"You're looking real smug with your self." Rex said to Uni.

"Well what if I am, it took a lot of work to draw these." Uni said and held up his book so Rex could see. A paper fell out of it and onto my lap. I opened it, it was a drawing of 4 people one person looked a lot like Rex with his nice hat, next to him was someone who looked a lot like Uni including the odd hair choice. Next to Uni was some one I didn't know. But next to that random person was what I believed to be was Nick. He was wearing the same grey goggles that Nick  would have on.

"Who's that?" I pointed to the person in between Uni and Nick.

"Well that's Cory of course, Uni was always drawing pictures of us on his free time. Quite the artist if I do say so myself." Rex said pleased. Uni gave Rex a hard look.

"Oh... Oops." Rex said. I looked at the paper closer, "Cory actually has a face?" I said. I know it was a stupid question but that was just what came out.

"Yes he has a face. What kind of question is that." Rex said.

"Well then why did you two come from the Prodótis kingdom?!" I blurted out louder then I meant to. Uni and Rex froze.

"Look, it is complicated and we really don't like to talk about it." Uni said pretty glumly.

"What is so complicated with you four?" I shouted. Uni and Rex were now exchanging glances and were having a silent conversation.

"I'm sorry, but it isn't really your buisness." Uni finally broke the silence. "All you need to know, is that we are from the Kalá kingdom, born and raised." Uni said with a nodd. He reached over and gently took the paper out of my hand. He carefully folded it back up, then stuck it into his art book.

"Is that all you needed?" Uni asked.

"I looked at Rex, "Can I try to... heal your leg?" I asked.
