Chapter 28: Mr.Whiskers?

Ross' POV

I didn't really understand, what they were talking about. I kept zoning out here and there. All I heard was something about a festival, some thing about being cautious, and now copy cats. Yup, I was clueless.

I kept thinking of Thunder Muffin. I missed my chicken soo much. Sence Shelby hasn't been really talking to me lately, I began to speak to Nick more. Shelby has been busy lately trying to pester Cory for answers, I began to think she may actually like hanging out with him,  not that she only wanted to drill questions out of him.

Shelby had really reacted emotionly when Cory and Uni fell off the ciff. She wouldn't stop crying. But when they came back, she was so happy and went straight to Cory and hugged him. I kinda had a thought in the back of my head that Shelby may like Cory a little more than she would lead on.

"That is highly risky." Red said and I lost my train of thought.

"We could go in normal clothes, blend right in, we just cover our necklaces, and with Uni and Rex with us, it will be harder for them to guess which are which." Adam said with a grin of determination.

"It is a good plan, we can split in big groups too, if needed." Mitch added in.

I was lost in the subject, what plan are they talking about I thought to myself.

"If there is even a chance of attack, we should go." Jin said.

"You guys are going to go either way aren't you?" Red asked.

"Of course! I haven't celebrated that holiday since I was kidnapped." Uni said.

"Since what?" Jin asked.

"Since the cat napping." Uni said slowly. "My cat has a curse where it's been asleep for 11 years or so." Uni added on.

Shelby raised her eyebrow, " Didn't you say ki-"

"Shhhhhh H-h-h... We don't like to talk about poor Mr.Whiskers." Nick said while covering Shelby's mouth.

"Yea but it sounded like you said kidnap-" Shelby tried to say.

Adam raised his voice," Don't disrespect Mr. Meowmers-."

"Whiskers." Nick corrected.

"Whiskers a loss comrade." Adam continued.

Jin looked at Adam suspiciously. Then changed the subject back.

"So if you allow it or not, we will still be going." Jin said very stern while looking Red in the eyes.

"There is no stoppings them." Barney said to Red.

Red then sighed, " Do what you want, as long as you do it as a team."

Shelby than spoke,"But what about the-"

"Drop it Shumpy!" Adam commanded. And Shelby swallowed her words.

"Soo... What are we planning, I may have been day dreaming." I said in a small voice.

"Ross!" Everyone whined at the same time.

Then we heard a big explosion, the hole tent shook, and the table shook as well.

"What was that?" Nick said panicked.

"Something we don't want to find out." I commented.

Adam ran outside the tent and looked around. He then jumped, using the wind to push himself farther off the ground.

"They have lined up canons." Adam shouted over the loud explosions.

"Make an escape tunnel Ross." Mitch commanded. I soon went to work on that using my powers to dig a hole out big enough for everyone to walk in.

When it was finished Uni went into the second tent. When was there two? He came out carrying Cory on his back.

"I wanna take a nap." I whined.

"Not now Ross." Adam said then walked inside the hole. Where does it lead?"

"I don't know? At the edge of the dark forest maybe." I answered.

"That should be good, I know how to get to the camp sight from their." Jerome said. "I can just turn to a little birdy, fly up and you guys follow."

We then entered the hole I had made. Adam went first then me, Shelby, and Uni ,who was carrying Cory. Behind us was Rex and Alex. Next was Jin and Nick, After it was Jerome, Mitch, Ghetto, and Deadlox. In last was Red and Barney. It took a while, but we came out the other end all right. I could hear mumbling coming from Cory. Shelby would glance at him every now and then, but he was still out cold.

"What is he mumbling?" I asked Shelby and Uni. They both just shrugged in response.

Jerome then said, "Follow me." Then turned into an eagle and began to fly. It was surprisingly hard to keep up with him. Was it even a boy bird?

"Do you think when he turns into an animal, he changes gender too?" I asked Adam.

Adam just laughed.

"That is highly unlikely." Jin said. "He is just shuffling his genetic code."

"Nerd!" Adam yelled.

We were now to far from the battle, and we could only hear the faint sounds of yelling. We came near a mountain and Jerome flew down and turned back to his usual self.

"We're here." Jerome said.

Mitch then approached the mountain side and knocked on the mountain, while whispering something I couldn't hear. The mountain opened up  and revealed a tunnel. Once you went all the way through, their was a clearing, and you could see their was mountains surrounding the hole area.

"After the attack, we had no choice but to revert a lot of the troops here. The old base was destroyed. This one was used for years as a spare, but we never really used it until now. We have a hole community here, a lot of the homes, are built into the mountain to preserve room." Mitch said as we walked in and admired the area. Their was a building in the middle of the area that looked like a head quarters.

"What's that big building in the middle." Nick said pointing to it.

"That is the dining hall. It's supposed to look grand, so if there is an attack they would think it was the HQ but naa, it is mostly empty all the time. Everyone usually takes their meal to go, since we have enough rooms for two or none to share one room. Anyways, you guys will be staying in our region, the "guardian" area, the thing different about it is, their are weapon storages in each room, filled with well weapons and armor. But, Barney and Red are needed now, I will show you where to go. Guys take over for me." Mitch said as he left with Red and Barney.

"Follow us" Ghetto spoke up and continued walking. He then stopped and looked at us.

"I think their is enough room for each of you to have a room, but if not tell us, we will make arrangements. " He said.

"What are you waiting for? Pick a room." Jerome said.

Adam scanned the area. " Ladies first." he looked directly at Shelby.

Shelby then went over and picked a room 1 down from the door.

Adam than nodded."Alex, as far from that as possible." she nodded and went into a room that was on the opposite wall and all the way down.

"Uni, set Cory in the room across from Alex's, that is all the ordering needed, so you all have free will to pick now." Adam said. Uni went off caring Cory with Nick, and Rex by his side. I of course picked a room next to Shelbys. On the right wall it went; me, Shelby, Ghetto, Nick, Uni, Cory. On the left wall it went; Adam, Jin, Jerome, Mitch, Rex, Alex. All the way at the end of the hall was Deadlox's room.

As soon as I laid down, I felt my body shut down. I woke up in the middle of the night hearing a creak of a door but fell back to sleep.
