Chapter 44: Passive

Nick's POV

Aphmua was showing us around the castle. It was nice and huge. I was really interested into all the decorations and Uni seemed to really like the interior design and the art work inside.

Rex commented here and their making jokes out of the smallest of things. I had began to get bored and rest less. My legs were achy and the hallway seemed to go on forever until, some guards came rushing in carrying a guy. We were in the medical Bay of the castle but we didn't expect anything to happen. Aphmua seemed surprised as well.

"What happened?" Aphmua asked very concerned as she followed the people into the medical room setting the guard on a bed.
"I'll tell ya what happened!" One of the guards began to say then continued, "The no good thief decided to drain the life out of him!"

Uni's eyes opened wide at the frail body, "...Cory did this?"

Then Jin came in, " They were practicing and failed miserably. Though it is concerning that Cory drained his energy. It is very unlike him. Last time he did that, he nearly killed Nick and has been careful sense."

"Why isn't he dead?" Rex asked.

Uni glared at Rex for asking that then Jin spoke, " Shelby heald him, if it wasn't for Shelby, he would have most likely turned to dust or something. I think he had a couple broken ribs because Cory drained that much energy, it went down to the bone."

Then almost on que Shelby walked in.
"You're not with Cory?" Uni said as soon as she came in.
She shook her head, "Jin told me to stay and heal him." She said looking at the guard lying down.

"Then where is Cory!?" Rex demanded.

"Probaly moping somewhere." Jin said.

"Well I'm gonna look for him then." I declared.

"If you find him, bring him back so I can teach him a lesson." One of the guards said.

"I don't believe that is wise, we still don't know all of his powers and he did that to your friend, I don't believe you want  the same to happen to you." Jin said with a faint grin.

The guard grunted and Uni, Rex, and Shelby walked out into the hallway with me.

"Where is Ross?" Rex asked.
Shelby shrugged in response.
Uni was quiet, to quiet. Every now and then, he glared at Shelby in distaste.

"We are not making any progress!" Uni shouted. "Where would he be?" Then it snapped, " Is their a roof access?"

I found myself climbing a 5 story tall castle. It was steep and I was scared to fall. Rex and Shelby were on all fours while Uni was walking on two feet, but really wobbly. He kept cursing. Rex would look back to me every now and then to see if I was okay. I was of course scared, but I didn't want them to know it. We eventually saw a blob laying on its back with its head over the edge and figured, that was Cory.

When I saw him I got a little to eager and picked up my paste causing me to be even more clumsy. Cory obviously heard us and looked at us then sighed and slid a little closer to the edge.
"Leave me alone to die!" He shouted.

"Oh stop being dramatic Cory." Uni scolded.

"Go away." Cory said angrily.

"Don't be bonely." Rex said with a grin.
Cory was unresponsive. I sighed and sat by him, almost falling but Rex grabbed me from slipping.

"Are you okay Cory." Uni asked.

"I don't want to talk about... Let's just go." Cory said standing up.
