Guardians 1: Ashes

Chapter 27: Debriefing

(I lost inspiration for the story and unpublished the book, but am back with the new chapter and have some grand ideas for the rest. I continued to type the story over my sudden disappearance so I have 46 chapters already typed.)

Jin's POV

Cory had just raised an undead army. Thousands of skeletons were fighting and were quickly taking out the Prodótis Knights. Dued to the lack of muscle, they were very quick and surprisingly agile. I had to admit I was impressed. An eagle came flying down at Cory, but soon it changed into a person, not just any person though, Jerome.

Uni was grumbling on the floor by Jerome's feet. Jerome said something to Cory, Cory then glanced at Uni and nodded. Then some of the skeletons began to walk to Cory. One of the skeletons picked up Ross and Nick and brought them to Cory's side. More skeletons appeared and were carrying, Adam, Barney, and Red.

Rex was yelling at one of the skeletons saying."If you touch me again you boney freak I will cut your hand off!"

I simply just followed the skeletons to Cory's side, and Alex had teleported her way their. Rex soon came up still muttering about the skeletons trying to bring him here. Everyone was in a circle, with the skeletons surrounding us creating a bracade.

"Hi guys!" Jerome said. "So thanks for arriving so suddenly, sorry you got stuck here like this, anyways I'm going to send the other guardians to come get you guys, then we can talk stradegies. So stay put." He finished and turned into an eagle and flew out the circle.

We all sat their for a while. Cory had fallen asleep leaning on Shelby. He probaly used up a lot of energy rasining an undead army. Adam was beginning to get restless. He stood and began to walk in the circle.

"Adam, No." I said.

"But-" He began to say.

"No." I said. "I know what you are thinking. We were told to wait here, so we are doing what we have to."

"Last time you paced yourself, you threw yourself off a cliff." I said. A grin popped up on Adam's face.

"Grab him!" I yelled as Adam charged at one of the skeleton's back. He just bounced off falling onto Nick.

"You're crushing me Adam." Nick whined.

Adam got up off of Nick, then jumped into the air. He used the wind to push himself over the skeletons and was out of the baracade.

"Adam, get back here!" Red yelled, but Adam was already fighting against one of the Prodótis knights.

"Aren't you going to do something?" I asked.

"Yea." Red said, then sat back down. I studied him for a second.

"Are you implying that you are doing something by doing nothing.?" I asked. No answer.

"That doesn't work you know?" I said.

I then turned my gaze else where. Nick was showing off his little ice sculptures to Alex and Ross. Uni and Rex were talking about the skeleton soldiers. Barney and Red were somewhere deep in thought. And Cory was still napping against Shelby, although, Shelby was stiff as a rock, she looked happy, and was even blushing a little. I then saw a little redish orange splotch in the sky. I ignored it and looked back to the others and I noticed Cory was mumbling something. Shelby then began to pat his head gently and began to whisper  something in Cory's ear. I then noticed the splotch was getting closer.

I looked harder, and studied it for a bit. The fireball's angle changed and was now heading downward straight at us.

I pointed it out, then the others began to look at it except Cory and Shelby. Cory because he was sleeping, and Shelby because she didn't want to move and disturb Cory. The fire ball was now about 100 feet away, and I noticed, it kinda had a shape of a person. The ball dimmed as it got closer, then it completely dimmed revealing  Mitch falling out of the sky. An eagle then caught him, and they both landed gently in our baracade.
"How is everyone?" Mitch said with a grin. Alex then stood up.

"I'll get Adam." she then vanished, and a few seconds later reapeared with Adam.

"Great, now that the gang is here, we can head to main camp." Mitch said.

"Or, we can bring the camp to us." Red said then set one of the magic tent boxes on the ground. He clicked the button and a full size tent came out of it.

"Sweet." Mitch said and walked in. Red and Barney then walked in followed by Adam and the others except Shelby and Cory. Jerome was outside too, he turned into a falcon and flew away.
I dug in my coat pocket and pulled out my own tent box. I clicked it and it opened.

"You can leave Cory in here, I dont think you want to miss the meeting." I told her.

She glanced at Cory then nodded. We brought him into the tent and walked to join the others in the next tent. We waited for a bit quietly. The tent had tables and chairs in it already. It also had a map of the dark forest, and all the kingdoms.

"Okay guys, let me give you a debriefing on the situation. So Prodótis Kingdom has been attacking for about a week now, and their attack was hidden too. First the entities came, it starteled us for the unusual amount at once, 2 days later, the Knights began attacking and the attack has been going on since. We believe some have already made it through to your kingdom, but we are not sure. And with the Kingdoms Grand Ceremony coming up about Founding the kingdom we highly recommend to stay cautious." Mitch said looking at everyone sternly.

"We can't call back the ceremony, you can't just cancel a holiday." Nick said.

Jerome then came in with Deadlox and Ghetto. They quietly listened to our discussion.

"Well it is a couple of weeks from now, if we cancel the holiday, it will lose the purpose of the holiday Hope, causing the kingdom to have fear, we don't need un needed chaos." Red said.

"We have gotten sighting of what we think are the Guardians of Prodótis." Ghetto spoke up.

"Well we weren't a hundred percent sure, there were about 25 versions of the same person. I mean... uh. It was one person, but more... copys, I think appeared. It was weird." Deadlox spoke up.

"So the person cloned them self?" I asked.

"No, we couldn't physically hurt them. They just confused us in getting the right person, and at other times, one of the copy cats turned into an entity, but we couldn't hurt it either." Deadlox said.

"An allusion!" I snapped and opened my spell book. "This guardian has the power of allusions, making the unreal feel real, it is similar to Deadlox's powers, and can often lead to death in a terrible way for the person it being used on. Some allusions are; land over cliffs, causing people to fall to their death thinking it was actual  ground." I said looking up from my book.

"Sounds about right." Ghetto said.
