It's been a full two hours of sitting on my purple bean bag chair in my small upstairs room staring at the unopened note in my hands. The shaking of my hands hasn't stopped until now, so I know I should open it. Alice and July have been ringing off the hook for the past two hours asking me over and over what the note says, an every time I reply with "I haven't opened it yet".

I fumble with the sticky red print sealing the paper and hold my breath instinctively as the top half of the envelope pops off from the bottom half. A rose pink piece of paper sticks out of the envelope and I take it out slowly, unfolding it to find a very short message inscribed in black ink right in the middle of the page.

I know what you can do.

My heart skips a beat at the words and I feel my body jump up from the bean bag chair and reach for my cell phone. I punch in July's number and she answers on the second ring. We plan to meet up together at the park with Alice to discuss my current predicament.

All the way to the park I'm troubled with the thought thats been failing to find it's reason. I know what you can do.

What did it even mean. I Could soon see my friends colorful, mostly from the matching rainbow rain coats they were wearing, bodies sitting on a dry bench under an oak tree up on the grassy hill overlooking our bubble tea home. Alice was holding a Taro bubble tea in spite of our change in flavor.

"Guys! Guys, I'm here!" I cried out, plopping down beside Alice on the cold metal bench, feeling the chillness under my tight jeans.

"So, what did the note say?" Alice asked casually, sipping at her tea.

"Is it a love letter?" July asked once more, crinkling her nose up at the word.

"No! No...er, I don't think so," I panted, out of breath,"Here, look!" I reached into my bag and handed July the rose colored piece of paper. I watched July and Alice scan the words together and both their eyes bug out of their sockets at what they saw.

"What can you do??" Alice exclaimed, choking on a squishy tapioca pearl.

"What?...Oh! I don't know! I have no idea what there talking about....or...who" I pluck the note out of July's stone cold hands and zipped it back in my bag.

July looked me in the eye,"Do you think it could be dangerous?"

Before I could answer, out of the trees came Simon. Simon is a boy in our school always trying to hang out with us because he has no friends. He's arms are waving frantically at us as he comes closer, "Hey! Hey, what sup guys!?"

"Maybe he sent you the note.." July leaned over and whispered in my ear just as Simon stopped in front of us.

Simon (One of his bad days)

Simon (One of his bad days)

"Go away Simon...were having a serious conversation," Alice said, shooing him away with her arm, the bracelets on her wrist dangle noiselessly.

"Oh...okay...I just wanted to say...This guy..er," He fumbled with his words and I gasped as he handed her another cream colored envelope, "This dude at the Boba house handed me this and said to deliver it to you, Sky.....Is he your boy friend?"

I felt myself blush and Quickly took the note from him, "No! no....er, thanks Simon..."

"Oh..okay..bye," Simon covered his reddening face with his sleeve and turned to walk away from the girls.

"Okay, this time...your opening it here, Sky!" July exclaimed, holding me down on the bench and smiling triumphantly.

"Okay! Okay.." I tore the not open and unfolded the second piece of rose colored paper. It said in that same black ink...

Meet me tonight, 10:00pm, behind the boba house

I gasped and stared, blank faced at my friends, "What should I do?"

Alice replied before July had a chance to speak, "Meet them there....but bring this!" Alice handed me a shiny Japanese vegetable knife, the blade concealed inside it's leather case. I took the weapon from her gratefully.

"Are you serious, Alice!" July exclaimed.

Alice shrugged

"It's okay....I got this...I'm going to meet this stranger and I will take this trusty knife with me." I explained.

"And your cell phone!" July pointed out nervously.

"Yes...And my cell phone,"

"Can't we come with you?" July asked.

I stood up and thought for a second before answering, "No...I need to do this alone..Also, where did you find the first note, Alice?"

"Um...it was literally on my porch and there was another tiny note beside it saying 'For Sky'," Alice shrugged.

As I was walking away I remembered something, "And Alice....Why do you carry knifes around?"

I heard July giggle as Alice replied, "What if I run into a clown! You never know!"

I made my way home, thoughts swirling around in my mind. I smiled as the comforting feel of the knife banging against my leg reminded me that most people don't carry guns....That's a lie. Tonight would be the scariest night of my life.
