July-

I woke up the next morning on the rickety raft boat, my feet hanging off the side, soaked with sea water.  I sat up groggily and I noticed my friends were gone even before my eyes fully adjusted to being open after a long nights rest. I scanned my surroundings. They were gone. No where in sight. And I am still in the middle of the ocean. Panic washed over me along with a good dose of sea sickness. I leaned over the boat to retch but gasped at what stared back up at me from below the clear water. A mermaid. She had long green hair, I later realized it was sea weed, a palish face freckled with small barnacles, bat that was all I noticed...except for the golden shimmer of a tail flicking lazily beneath her. But as soon as she was there, she was gone. I  sat up on the boat and once more thought of my friends, tears choked my throat. Were could they have gone? there is no where to go! Did Alice fly them away. Did they leave me? No..they would never. Something must have happened.

I began to panic more heavily because the wind has stopped and the tiny boat was now rocking in the same exact spot on the still, flat ocean. I had to get somewhere. Anywhere.I squeezed my eyes shut and opened my hands calmly out to the sides of my body, willing for the wind to come. And my powers worked. The wind did come. But it came strong. too strong.

The little hand crafted boat rocked dangerously side to side, tipping over what little food or water was left. The waves grew stronger and splashed menacingly over the sides of the boat, the salty water stinging my bare flesh. I dared to stand up on the wobbly boat and raised my hands, hoping my powers were strong enough the fight the storm. But to my horror, the storm became stronger. And in a split second, before I had any time to do anything, the boat tipped over and I was tossed under the water to fight the waves. But soon it began to much and even my powerful powers couldn't block the water from reaching my lungs. The last thing I saw with blurred eyes before I blacked out was the glimmer of that golden tail.
