Once Mara has woken up, I sit in front of her, watching her sip her coconut water soundlessly. I have just found out that my nature bound powers also have the keen ability to produce fruits and veggies. I'm pretty useful. Alice, Jasper, and Simon are on the other side of the small island trying to catch fish to eat. Once Mara has finished her whole coconut, along with the white meat inside, I prod her with questions that I have kept bottled up inside me all day. She rarely glances at me when I speak, as if she's ashamed of something.

"I haven't seen you since I was seven!" I cried, not bothering to fight the broad smile creeping onto my lips. Memories of me and Mara playing together as kids plague my vision "Are you...were you a guardian like my parents and Simon to?"

At this question, Mara lifts up her head and stares at me with her dull gray eyes and I find myself wondering how her hair could of gotten redder since we last met, "Yes..."

"What are you doing here!!!....how..." then a thought hit me and my voice wobbled as i spoke, "Did you separate us from July?"

Mara takes a deep breath, sets the coconut on the sandy ground and explains, "okay....If you really wanna know, I didn't eat July," She says almost to sarcastically "But..I did separate you.....I have been watching you guys....following..don't judge! You guys were sleeping on that wobbly little wooden raft of yours right next to this island. I have been stranded on here by some stupid gargoyles..don't ask...I saw you and everyone and I got jealous of July....She looked so happy with you Guys! Everyone else looked terrified in there sleep! Okay..this sounds really stupid, but I thought that if July was with you...you would treat me as the fifth wheel when you met me! And July looked like the happy one! So I pulled you four onto the beach, and pushed her back out to see....I'm sure she's fine!!" She tosses her hands up, seeing the angry look on my face. I'm sure I looked like a tomato!

I stood up and walked to were my friends were catching fish, leaving Mara alone on the beach. You can't just do that! What if July is in trouble....I can't trust Mara....not like I did before.
