( BACK TO SKY'S POINT OF VIEW)

Tears were spilling from my eyes, burning on my cheeks. But not tears of sadness. I was crying because of the wind whipping through my hair, lashing at my pink cheeks, stinging my eyes with it's cold force. I was laughing to, but not just any laugh. An uproarious laugh, a laugh most likely heard across the whole valley surrounding the kingdom. I felt free, like I was flying, even though it was Alice doing the flying!

Alice was holding me by my arms tightly, I felt safe knowing she wouldn't drop me, and let her black wings take me around in the sky. Time to time, she would call down at me and ask if I was doing okay...I couldn't answer, only smile and look at my friend through tear drenched eye lashes. Sometimes she would hang low and my bare feet would skim the bushy tree tops, leaving bright trails of flowers from my touch. I knew then that this was were I belonged. Even though Alice and July were never magic, they have always had it in them to be so. I knew they belonged to.

At one point, to my amazement, we went high enough to touch the clouds. They clouded my vision as we swept through them like a knife cutting through butter, and I almost couldn't see Alice above me, except for the black wings beating agains the blue sky...she was almost invisible. It was cold up there in the clouds and i could barely breath, but I payed no mind to that. I felt free. I began to cry again. I was so happy.

But of course, we couldn't live up there in the sky...we had to go back down sooner or later..and we did. It was sad to touch the grassy floor once again, but I knew we would fly again sometime soon....next time with July.

"Wow! that was fun! I made the right choice choosing these wings!" Alice exclaimed, her wings disappearing behind her back as we walked up the stone staircase to our room. July wasn't back from the kitchen yet.

"Yeah..." I breathed, flopping down on the sofa...still mesmerized by my flight.

"I wonder when she'll be back," Alice breathed, sitting down at the chair in front of me, her arms folded on her lap.

I shrugged, not really thinking about what Alice said, and bit into an apple lying randomly on the table.

"Did you make sure that's not a poison apple? I did see an old lady outside the building," Alice joked.

I laughed. It felt good to laugh again and reminded me of flying,"Next time you want to stretch your wings...take me and July with you...."

Alice nodded, "Yeah.....Hey look! July is here!" Alice stood up and hugged July, who looked oddly shaken. I stood up.

"Hey, July....are you okay?? did Zayn hurt you!" I gasped.

July looked flushed and startled at my question, "No! no...It's just..Peeling potatoes can be really hard," And without another word, July walked away and into the bedroom, slamming the door behind her.

"Must of been some hard potatoes!" Alice sighed, walking back to the chair.

"Yeah...." I said softly. Something was wrong. That's when I realized...What was Zayn's power?
